The other day i was talking with a woman that told me a very creepy story about someone with the "same characteristics" and age that i have who was the cause of the destruction of the marriage of a couple she knew and the horrible consecuences that this woman had.

After that i understood that she is very scared of me for being single.
I ve never thought about breaking any marriage, i dont go out with married guys.....I dont even date! so i felt offended.....but i was wondering how a married woman would feel about a single woman near.

Do you think married ppl is scared of single ppl near their spouses?

Have someone been scared of you for being single?

I really don't think it is fair of her to judge you simple because you remind her of someone else. Actually, that's rather shallow and silly.

I do not feel threatened by single women around my husband....I am very secure with myself and with our relationship. I trust my husband immensely.

That woman must not have a very good relationship with her husband since she feels threatened by you . I would be offended too :)

But God says we are to live in forgiveness. Maybe you can get her to open up to you about why she's so insecure. You may turn out to be a good friend for her :)

I agree with Lucy68, if a married woman feels threatend by a single woman near her husband, then it means she is insecure or doesn't trust her husband. I've known women who won't even allow their husbands to go out alone, they believe all the single women will go after him. I doubt that it does any good for a marriage.

Hmmm I'm not married..so this is just my opinion.. I don't think married people are scared of single people in general.. That would be kinda stupid. I think it is important for a wife/husband to trust their spouse and not get paranoid, because that can hurt their marriage even more. But here's where I have a problem.. If I was married I wouldn't be scared of single women..BUT if there was a woman trying to spend time with my husband alone..then THAT would not be acceptable and would be inappropriate..Then I would put my foot down and put her in her place.. Like I've said before..trust is important..but there is something called TEMPTATION ..and it can happen at ANY time..Any husband/wife could fall (No matter how trust worthy they are or how secure the marriage is!!!)..that's why even though you trust them, you should not allow for there to be any opportunities where they could be tempted..and it would also be their responsibility too not to end up in situations like that either..

Most of my friends are married and we have a lot of fun doing the sort of things I like to do. I'm more comfortable around them than a lot of single women I know who want to go on about how yummy this or that guy might be and go places/do things I would rather not.

Married women who have issues with someone just because they are single have other issues going on that have nothing to do with you.

You are splendidly refreshing, Jullianna. :)

Thank You.

thank you, sir :o
"You are very welcome, my dear..." :)

"Sorry - I did not mean to kill the thread..."

I wrote the previous post because what Jullianna said was "like a breath of fresh air" in the face of the reality that way too many people (in my opinion) seem to think that any and all single men:

~ "just want one thing"
~ have no self-control
~ cannot understand or identify with anything that is associated with marriage - because, "you are not married"...
~ cannot have sincere, honest, innocent love for children -- because, "you do not have any children of your own"...
~ are not capable of having a "steady and stable" heart and mind - having sincere honest innocent intents and motives

And, before anyone reacts -- I know quite well that there *are* some very special things associated with marriage and having children of your own -- I am talking about people who seem to think that anyone who is not married cannot possibly understand *anything* about marriage - and that anyone who has not had any children of their own cannot possibly understand *anything* about children.

I believe anyone can understand what the Bible says about marriage -- it is with this most valuable information that we can prepare ourselves for it so that when we marry - we don't have to waste so many years trying to 'figure it out' or 'find a balance' or [whatever] (like most everyone else in the world) -- if we "start fresh" based on what God says about it, then we can begin "way ahead of the rest"...

In the past, I semi-seriously thought about wearing a ring (as an experiment) - so as to appear married - to see if women would be more 'relaxed' around me...

I decided against it because I believe it would be dishonest - telling a lie - not the truth.

I have in the past prayed a very sincere prayer to God that He "hurry up and get me married to 'the one' just so that other women would not be so afraid of me"...

Yes - OP - I think that, not only are some married people afraid of singles being near their spouse - but even themselves, also. Of course, in a lot of cases it is very understandable - and prudent - and justifyable. There are a lot of evil-doers out there who have no respect for the sanctity of marriage --- I just regret that the ones who do such evil make it so difficult for those of us who *are* very well self-disciplined and *do* have sincere honest innocent intents and motives... :(

I am married and yes I am scared of every 'single' one of you!! That's why I read the singles forum more than any other forum on here!! Just to keep an eye on you all!!!

:) Just kiddin!

I don't know how that stigma gets put out there.....I have been married a long time, and have never, ever, never, been scared of, jealous of, or leery around, anyone single. (least ways, not pertaining to them being single......hahhaha) I think it comes from trusting my hubby, being stable in my marriage, and giving it all to God.

Yes, it''s a reality, being in singles group, like when couple band members had wives, but in group , so, The Lord leads. I quickly let The girl know she is blessed to have the guy she has and I list their good qualities and,how it''s neat that they sacrifice time this way , and, I become friends with guy of wives so.they know me and can see who I am and I am after God's will for my life . And, so then I can talk with their wives freely and everyone at ease . :)
And, lizzytheone, this be the thread you were speaking of that time we talked in pm couple weeks ago, being not you being jealous of by girl of guy you talked to but was someone else.
And, how icky that a someone in church broke up.a marriage, sad too :(
But, Satan is real and he does not mind going through any doors and doesn't mind any means, even church fair game, for his destruction. :(

I'm a confusing quiet guy & I get husbands hug their wives closer sometimes... I don't care because I like reading body language its refreshing, like a ,'hello.'

I like Phia's example too though.
