thank you, sir
"You are very welcome, my dear..."
"Sorry - I did not mean to kill the thread..."
I wrote the previous post because what Jullianna said was "like a breath of fresh air" in the face of the reality that way too many people (in my opinion) seem to think that any and all single men:
~ "just want one thing"
~ have no self-control
~ cannot understand or identify with anything that is associated with marriage - because, "you are not married"...
~ cannot have sincere, honest, innocent love for children -- because, "you do not have any children of your own"...
~ are not capable of having a "steady and stable" heart and mind - having sincere honest innocent intents and motives
And, before anyone reacts -- I know quite well that there *are* some very special things associated with marriage and having children of your own -- I am talking about people who seem to think that anyone who is not married cannot possibly understand *anything* about marriage - and that anyone who has not had any children of their own cannot possibly understand *anything* about children.
I believe anyone can understand what the Bible says about marriage -- it is with this
most valuable information that we can prepare ourselves for it so that when we marry - we don't have to waste so many years trying to 'figure it out' or 'find a balance' or [whatever] (like most everyone else in the world) -- if we "start fresh" based on what God says about it, then we can
begin "way ahead of the rest"...
In the past, I semi-seriously thought about wearing a ring (as an experiment) - so as to appear married - to see if women would be more 'relaxed' around me...
I decided against it because I believe it would be dishonest - telling a lie - not the truth.
I have in the past prayed a very sincere prayer to God that He "hurry up and get me married to 'the one' just so that other women would not be so afraid of me"...
Yes - OP - I think that, not only are
some married people afraid of singles being near their spouse - but even themselves, also. Of course, in a lot of cases it is very understandable - and prudent - and justifyable. There are a lot of evil-doers out there who have no respect for the sanctity of marriage --- I just regret that the ones who do such evil make it so difficult for those of us who *are* very well self-disciplined and *do* have sincere honest innocent intents and motives...
