Is Matthew 7:12 the golden rule? How to obey it (Part 3).
So, does it mean that we should to look down on Matthew 7:12?
No! We need to obey it, but in the right way. To figure out this, keep in mind what Jesus said:
Once this will come about us, we need to observe two things:
First:
Once the Father only grant to us what is good, ask Him (see James 4:1-3).
Second:
Considering that the narrow gate and constricted way are found by few people, therefore if we abide by this commandment, only few people will come to us. And, considering the little desire that people have of finding out this gate, only those who have compromise with Christ will ask us something. In this case, if we obey to Jesus giving to him who asks of us, and do not turn away from him who would borrow from us (Matthew 5:42), we will be sowing good things and, certainly, we will be worthy of reap good things. Instead of the previous vicious cycle, we will be in a virtuous cycle.
So, have a good day hearing the wisdom, watching daily at her gates, waiting at the posts of her doors. For whoso finds wisdom finds life, and shall obtain favor of the LORD. But he that sins against the wisdom wrongs his own soul: all they that hate her love death. (Pro 8:34-36).
In short: obey Jesus, but with wisdom (see Ephesians 5:16,17).
