is my brother crazy?

I'm worried my brother is going insane. He always is seeing demons in people. He got pulled over for speeding, and said that the policman "manifested" against him, and he saw his eyes turn black. He got pulled over again the following week (minor speeding infracctions that he insists he wasnt speeding) and he said that satan was sending assassins out to get him through the guise of law enforcement. Everytime he meets a girl, she ends up being a "jezebel" and the devil is using her to try to kill him. He has no friends, was saved about 28 years ago, but he is alwyas "battleing demons" and conducting warfare. He told me that god accelerated his wisdom so that he could do battle. That there are not many people who have his gift of "prophecy" and that he does the work of deliverance ministries. He is always depressed and unhappy. Does not sound like a saved person to me. This goes against all I believe, I think he sounds crazy, am I wrong???
 
Assuming your brother is sincere in his belief about these demonic attacks, I see 3 options:

1. He is nuts.
2. Demons really are out to get him
3. Demons already have him under some kind of control, ie. he is possessed. If so then there would be some other signs, most notable being extreme blasphemy, hatred and/or aversion to the sacred, displays of superhuman strength and knowledge of things that he could not know by natural means (eg. speaking fluently in a language he's never heard). I assume you'd have mentioned it if he were showing any of these signs so we can probably rule out this option, BUT option 2 could lead to this.
 
take him to see a specailst there are lots of cases similar to yours and these people have turned out to be mentaily unstable
 
Well, if he is truly born again, he cannot be possessed.
i am not a professional, so i'm not trying to give a diagnosis, but he has my symptoms of schizophrenia, so for that case he should be taken to a psychiatrist to be evaluated.
also, 'prophecy' is not about the ability to see spirits, it is being able to hear & recognize the voice of God & to speak the message He sends.
 
Keep praying for him and observe him carefully if he really is.

You are not wrong, but the definition of "crazy" is a slippery slope. Remember Jesus' description of the devil, "Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (Matthew 8:43-44)

I believe that you are right that your brother needs help. The devil is working hard for every soul he can get, and it appears as though he is working hard in your brother's life. But it is hard to determine just what kind of help he needs. I would suggest that you pray for guidance in the matter. Ask for God's answer, then pay attention to what He tells you. If He tells you to let well enough alone, you would be wise to take His counsel.
 
He is seriously oppressed. I will pray for him and ask others to as well.

Yeah, you need a professional diagnosis for something like that.

My first hunch is Megatron's though.
 
In my opinion, the fact that your brother is "always depressed and unhappy" proves that it isn't a spiritual issue.

Hi

I have met Christian friends behaving such unusual behavior and it does warrant some serious attention at the end of the day from experienced Christian counselors. First of all, I think you may want to check out on the books and/or videos which he is reading (I mean Christian ones). It is highly possible that he may be focusing on a little excessive on spiritual warfare that he went a little extreme. Secondly, if he is truly saved, then it is unlikely he is possessed. Then again, his belief that he has received something from God may render him a little unreceptive to sound counseling. :(

As a suggestion, start by lovingly reminding him daily that God loves him and He wants him to live a life of victory, joy and giving & receiving in God's Kingdom. Remind him that if God has empowered him with gifts, then all the more he should fellowship with God's believers and uses the gift to be a blessing to others. It is certainly not God's plan for any Christian to be alone and without friends around him.

Pray specifically that God would open his eyes to see the errs around him, and that his heart be open to your sharing too. It may take some time and if you persevere, you will see God's deliverance! :)
