After studying, I wanted to challenge my brothers and sisters to study out the scriptures. So, with no fighting PLEASE! (all fighting will receive a bad rep) Consider the thread question and answer with a Biblical response. I myself will not fight but present my belief without judgment at a later date as I am running low on time but I wanted to here different beliefs.

I do believe it is true.
1 John 2:19
They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

What if you are saved but continue to habitually sin, knowing fully well that you are sinning, but don't seek a way out of it. Just asking because I have seen the topic raised quite frequently recently.

Great question. We all habitually sin but if we are not seeking a way out of it, we have not repented. It's almost like a dead faith. Once saved always saved gives us assurance of salvation BUT does not give us a license to sin.

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Once saved always saved is false. Jesus said we must endure to be saved. He said that if we don't bear fruit we will be cut from the vine. Paul said we must push ahead and strain for the prize. Jesus said that if we obey his commands we will remain in his love. Paul said that sin can shipwreck our faith.

Hebrews 6

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

The problem is, that many people will believe Christ, and Christ saves for what He did. But what many fail at is, to believe on Christ also means to listen to Christs teachings and know them.. And if you don't listen to Christ teachings, and warnings , then your setting yourself up for a fall. For example, falling into a bed with antichrist in the very very near future.. After your a Christian, you have to know what Christ said.

There are two churches for example, Smyrna and Philadelphia In Revelation, those two Churches not only believed in Christ, but knew Christs teachings . Because of this, Christ was very pleased with them. The other churches , that did Not know Christ warnings and teachings that the two churchs that Christ was very happy with did.

Romans 3:25, "Whom Yahweh set forth as a sacrifice of atonement by His own blood, through the faith, to declare His
righteousness for the remission of sins that are past
, through the forbearance of Yahweh."

Hebrews 10:26-27, "For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries."

2 Kepha (Peter) 2:20-22, "Now if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of Yahweh and the Savior Yahshua Messiah, they are again entangled in them, and overcome by them, the latter end is worse with them
than the beginning
. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy Laws (some translations say sacred command) delivered to them. There has befallen them the thing spoken of in the true proverb: A dog returns to his own vomit, and: A sow is washed, only to wallow again in the mire."

Yahchanan (John) 5:14, "Afterward, Yahshua found him in the sacred precincts and said to him: Behold, you are healed. Sin no more, or a worse thing will come upon you."

There is still mercy however:

1 Yahchanan (John) 1:8-9, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Thats what "SELLS" these days, "a gospel of john, your ticket to heaven stamped, and a pat on the rear end".

Have one [reacher preach one saved always saved and have another preach Romans 3:25, Hebrews 10:26-27, 2 Kepha (Peter) 2:20-22, Yahchanan (John) 5:14. I would be willing to go out on a limb abd say OSAS preacher has way more followers, and a nicer car.

Mattithyah 7:13-14, "Enter in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who go that way.Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way which leads to life, and few there are who find it."

Great thread. I think that satan is working in our churches to rid the world of Christians who stand firm against sin. Satan, as usual, is using truths of God to get God’s family to go along with him. he is using bible truths such as the need to stay away from legalism, saying all obedience is legalism. Satan is also using that the Holy Spirit is given to us to help us understand sin. Satan is telling us that because we obey through the Holy Spirit we are not to obey the written law. Satan says that Jesus, meek and mild, would never be a God of judgment for love never judges but accepts any sin. Satan wants us to believe that once we are saved we need not work for Christ any longer, it helps him establish lawlessness. So truths that we are to learn and understand are morthed into lies of satan.

We are told that in the last days will be lawlessness. God gave us a commission that includes law keeping as well as presenting the gospel for all to hear. We must stand firm.

Hi there ma'am, the teaching of Eternal Security is in the Holy Bible. So yes, once a person gets truly saved and converted, that same person is saved forever. I show that this is the case in my one post: True Born again Christians have Eternal Security.

1 Corinthians 9
[SUP]24 [/SUP]Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
[SUP]25 [/SUP]And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
[SUP]27 [/SUP]But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

In order to read scripture in such a way that it says this, that once you are saved you may sin all you like, then you would have to ignore many other scriptures. it is up us to understand the words God gives us and God is eternal, is solid dependable, always the same. God says that sin kills. That is why God sent His Son. Any man who says that God says differently is in great danger because he is putting false words in God's mouth.

Now RedTent, have you read my whole post on Eternal Security ma'am?

We who teach the Biblical doctrine of eternal security do not tell people that there are no consequences for their sin. If a Christian messes with sin, he will reap what he sows in this life. And his fellowship with the Father will be broken. But if that person is a true born again Christian, then he cannot lose his salvation. Sunce he is sealed by the Holy Spirit (Eph. 1:13 & Eph. 4:30) and since he is in the body of Christ, he is part of His Flesh and his Bones ( Eph. 5:30).

As long as you draw near Jesus Christ, He will draw nearer to you. He will never turn you away, but you can turn from him. Examples in the Bible was: Demas left Paul on his journeys and went back into the world Paul said, though I preach the gospel, I keep my body and keep it under subjection or I could become a castaway. Also in Rev. Jesus Christ warn the seven Churches to repent and come back to your fist love. Obvious, they had fallen away.

You are right, I didn't follow your reasoning well enough.

I still question your conclusion about what God is telling us in Ephesians. Marriage can be compared to Christ and the Church, and they become one flesh. I can see where you feel that means they cannot be broken. But just as man can so defile marriage it can be broken, I think the bond between the person born of the spirit can also break that bond with what he does.

These scriptures explain once saved always saved very well and prove its not true. Please study these scriptures that I am posting. do not skim over them, if you do you will miss the mark.

Ezekiel 33:8-19 KJV

When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live? Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God , I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live. Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal. When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby. But if the wicked turn from his wickedness, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.

Note verse 13 and 18
Ezekiel 33:13, 18 KJV

When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.
18 When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die thereby.
