Is Remarriage a Continuous sin? (POLL)

The husband divorced his wife for reasons OTHER than adultery, her Remarriage is:

  • A sin that is forgiven because she intends to do good with her new husband

  • a Continuous Sin

  • His Fault, therefore he's Responsible for her sin - so her sin is forgiven Because of this

  • Matthew 5:32 - This verse scares me to the point I don't even want to get married anymore

Yes I studied all about it but at one point, after my second ex who was on drugs and an unbeliever and my first ex only chatted, no physical adultery, had left, I had no clue anymore and said: Lord do You want me to go back to my first ex or my second ex?
He said: Marry Me. Time is short. They were marrying and giving into marriage and then I got a dream of Him and me on a sailship. He was the Captain.
 
You know what's funny... is people making the bible fit their actions... I love it...:)

It's just a generalization not necessarily a dig on this thread... just noticed it through out many discussions...:)

God bless you as you seek to walk in obedience to him, but if you are at all unhappy and wishing you had a way out of your current marriage please beware of using God or scripture to justify what you want to do.
 
No hubby divorced her for other reasons who knows. She has a right to be happy and make this marriage work. Why not? Why does it have to be a continuous sin? Be happy in Jesus name.

This is what Jesus told a woman who was caught in the act of adultery...

What is not funny SAD is those who want to make light of Gods grace. We are not under the levitical law but under grace. I believe that God forgives to those why hadnt yet come to the knowledge of the truth! >the bible says so:)
God doesnt hold a big hammer over our heads and threatens our souls to hell if we sinned before coming to the knowledge. Divorce before knowledge is not the same as divorce for a person who is fully aware of Gods words.

I Corinthians 7

7 Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me:
It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. 3 Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does.And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 5 Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 6 But I say this as a concession, not as a commandment. 7 For I wish that all men were even as I myself. But each one has his own gift from God, one in this manner and another in that.

The bible says if her husband leaves her she is not bound in such circumstances. 1 Corinthians 7:15 And therefore if she is free from the bonds of marriage, she is free to marry another. Romans 7:1-4

I was replying to Onthisrock's post and forgot to include their quote. Ugh!!!!!!

I absolutely agree. I never felt free to leave my husband until this last time he cheated on me and God has been abundantly blessing me with people praying for us (me and the kids), loving on us and helping us (I just had surgery and can't work or drive). I have no hatred towards my husband and still love him but I know I am free.

Answer: Although the original husband "caused" her to commit adultery, she is still guilty of committing adultery if she remarries and that is why Matt. 5:32 says whom ever marries this unlawfully divorced woman commits adultery. The "commits adultery" in the Greek is in the continuous "active/present" meaning the adulterous marriage remains adulterous as long as the other former spouse lives.
