Is Salvation instantaneous and permanent?

Some people here are still very dumb about Who and what God is!
Salvation is really about who and what God is! Not us!

To see us able to lose our salvation is to see God as a man.

The question is not "who God is" but who we are? Are we obedient or just wishful thinking?

All assuming instantaneous and immediate salvation. "If you say you love God and do not live in obedience to that will or even make a legitimate effort but just buy salvation for cheap with a semi-sincere one minute agreement to something said from the pulpit. It salvation was instantaneous, immediate and permanent, the New Testament would be one chapter long.

If one focuses on the cross and Christs finished work........No need for loss of salvation or possible condemnation.

But many/majority are not focused on Christs works.

Some do not know how to let go to leave our salvation in the Lord's hands.

He saved us by grace (his power) through faith (his Word).

To them God is still out there, not really in them, though they acknowledge that the Word tells us He is in us.
It takes faith to accept what we can not comprehend naturally.

"Faith comes 'by hearing' the Word of God."​

Romans 10:17​

Faith hearing involves spiritually a grasping of what was said.
Like when someone tells you something that you will connect with.
And your response is.... "I hear you!"
That kind of 'hearing.'

There are too many scriptures that suggest it's not necessarily permanent; at least while we're still in the body. For example: "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life." Revelation 3:5

John 5:24 is an implicit invitation to take hold of all that The Lord Jesus provides....... You have eternal life. Will not come under judgement. And have crossed over from death to LIFE.

You can ADAMANTLY make these claims as a believer in The Lord Jesus Christ........What do you truly believe if you cannot take hold of these promises?

I know I have Jesus’ resurrection life. I know I have aeonous life.

John 5:24
Truly, truly, I tell you, whoever is listening to My word and is believing Him who sent Me has aeonous life (zOEn aiOnion), and is not coming into judgment. Indeed, he (the one listening and believing) has crossed over from death to life.

Colossians 1:13

John 6:47
Truly, truly, I tell you, he who is believing has aeonous life (zOEn aiOnion).

I agree with these texts as written in Greek by the Holy Spirit.
 
Salvation covers the whole of the Christian experience. Conversion, regeneration, sanctification and glorification. So no, it is not instantaneous. And neither is it automatically permanent. We enter by faith and maintain it by faithfulness. 'Now the just shall live by faith; but if he draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him'. Heb 10:38.

Being killed and resurrected is about as changed as one can be!
The old nature is enabled to repent and cooperate with God until it becomes completely corrupt.
Gal. 2:20 says "I no longer live" and "the life now live", which are contradictory until harmonized.
The harmonization is that the repentant sinner cooperates with Christ/GW.

Yes, as a believer raised in Baptist churches I was never taught about the role of the proto-Gospel and general revelation
but learned it as I read the Bible (several times) for myself. My pastor rarely went beyond the basic Gospel.
