Gnostics tell us the spiritual is the real world, not the physical. We are told this is a false religion.

The modern church quotes “works will not save” to say our physical works mean nothing. Scripture tells us our works are as filthy rags, to back that up but scripture also says that such as drunkards will not see the kingdom of heaven.

Christ told us that if we love Him we will obey Him.

Scripture also tells us that we can move mountains with our faith. We can see this happening every day in the life of the people around us. Those with a positive attitude steeped with love from Christ within do seem to have a wonderful life that seems to move mountains.

What do you think the truth is in the relationship between the physical and spiritual?

well, Jesus died physically and was resurrected with a different body but could still be seen, could eat etc. probably we are also going to receive such a body...seems likely but I can't say 100%

our works are only as filthy rags if we do them in place of accepting the righteousness of Christ into our spirits by accepting Him as the propitiation for our sins

after we are saved, we find we are called to do good works...such as feeding orphans and widows and so on. some people receive a calling from God to be a missionary or teacher or elder etc

we should be careful though, because there will even be works done in the name of Christ that God will burn up in judgement, while the person who did them will still be saved because of the sacrifice of Jesus

so we should be very very careful not to confuse what we think is an acceptable work with what God says is an acceptable work

so, I would sum that up by saying physical works have no value if not done through the Spirit of God with all humbleness and acknowledgement that everything we have comes from God

I have tried to keep it simple so I hope that helps

oh. one more thing. when you use the word 'we', be careful to understand that does not mean everyone but perhaps means just the person using it.
