John 5 -13
Jesus said, “No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven – the Son of Man.”
Genesis 5:24 states that Enoch "walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away". Hebrews 11:5 confirms he was taken so he would not experience death. Elijah: 2 Kings 2:11 describes Elijah being taken up to heaven in a whirlwind with a chariot of fire.
I would suggest the term “ ascended “ differentiates Jesus the son of man
“Ascended is the past tense and past participle of the verb
ascend, meaning to have moved upward,
climbed, or risen to a higher position, rank, or degree”
so you have jesus ….
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in
Christ Jesus: who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: but
made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and
that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:5-11 KJV
I’m not sure this is true of anyone else let’s look at Enoch for instance he was “ translated by faith “
“
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; ( very different terminology from Enoch ascended into heaven and descended giving gifts to men ) and
was not found, because God had translated him: for
before his translation he had this testimony, that
he pleased God.”
Hebrews 11:5 KJV
i think the doctrine teaches us that “only Jesus ascended to heaven “ but others have been translated by faith such as Enoch , who is said by scripture to have never seen death because of faith and that the lord translated him being pleased by Enoch who walked with
him
“
In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and
the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
John 1:1-4, KJV
“
Verily, verily, I say unto you,
If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.”
John 8:51 KJV
“By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; ….for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”
Jesus the son of man
ascended to the throne of heaven with all authority on earth and in heaven
“I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like
the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him
near before him.
And there was
given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.”
Daniel 7:13-14 KJV
Which is his higher position to which he ascended by his perfect life.
Things like this aren’t said of anyone else
“hath in these last days spoken unto us by
his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also
he made the worlds; who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when
he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; being made so much better than the angels, as
he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
For unto which of the angels said he at any time,
Thou art my Son, This day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, And
he shall be to me a Son? And again,
when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
But
unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: A sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; Therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee With the oil of gladness above thy fellows.”
Hebrews 1:2-6, 8-9 KJV
There we’re other men who pleased God but none but Jesus had the identity and power to ascend from earth into the heavens even long before hand he was translating men but they weren’t able to ascend without him , he ascended so we can be translated and saved it’s be of the reasons this is true
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12 KJV
enoch couldn’t have avoided death without faith in God but Christ is the source of the life coursing through man’s borns and soul and the one who still promises by faith we can never see death as Enoch was faithful and never saw death
