No, it wouldn't. Many people cannot imagine that what they were told years ago can ever be anything but the only possible way of knowing God.

I love videos, but unfortunately due to bandwidth problems I am limited in what I can view.
Boy, am I ever with you there! I lived a life so much like many here for, literally, decades.... knowing that the way our denomination had indoctrinated us was the absolute RIGHT way, and the only way. From my 30's till my 60's, you could not have bulldozed me from the concrete fortress of my "solid doctrine." I probably rivaled Paul in my dogmatic Legalism.
I have no idea what it was that made God decide to finally introduce me to His true Son, but I am glad He finally did.
That is a real shame. That was a good video. The guy looked a little silly dressed up in a white wig and period clothing, but the delivery of the sermon seemed to be spot-on as it was described in my Bible class back in the 80's. If there is anyway I can help you be able to watch it, let me know.
Yeah, I've got most of these. When I first met Jeff years ago, he gave me a thumb drive with 36 of his sermons on it, and I have followed his website and forum from that time, on.
Heck yea, I hope and pray I am the same way. I just want to GROW in my relationship with Him, and never feel "I've arrived".
Well said!..it's growing in the grace and knowledge of Him is where we find the life that is in Him! He is everything! He is our life!
Yeah, I think that is something we are told to do. A lot of talk has gone on here about "Sanctification", as though that is gained by becoming more practiced and polished in certain behaviors. I feel it is gained by listening to God.... even if, like He did with Abraham, He asks us to leave the known "land" of our comfortable position in a particular religious understanding, to strike out into the unknown.... to "go where I will send you."
