She basically said make as many friends as possible as to this is how you progress in life. However she also said, to like your whole life thinking someone is going to betray you so don't trust anyone. Make friends but always look over your shoulder. She said she only trust her mom and God and her mom is dead so her list gets shorter. She's a cop so she believes she is right from her experience

uhm.. theres a different between contacts/acquaintances and friends. I dont agree with the first sentence..the second..uhm depends.. I am generally careful who I call friends and who arent. Maybe in her job its good to just call everyone friend and stuff but I think its better to have less friends and more acquaintances than adding everyone as a friend as it easily can make you forget how that person is.. rather stay a bit more discrete in general and have a handful you can rely on

Uhhhh... She sounds paranoid.. People who live their lives wondering if someone will betray them, are living in fear and IMO that's not much of a life. Maybe her experiences as a cop have jaded and biased her..

As a rap song used to say....."when the cops come all I hear is wuh wuh woo" said when the cops come all I hear is wuh wuh woo"

I don't know if there is any truth to her contention that you should "make as many friends as possible as to this is how you progress in life." As for trusting people, none of us is perfect, so none of us can be trusted completely. You learn to trust some people, to a certain degree, after they've demonstrated they are worthy of trust, over a period of time.

Making friends is not the key to success. Making money is.

Instead of not trusting anyone, learn to recognize red flags that tell you when someone might not be trustworthy.

People need to earn your trust so give chances but be discerning on who to trust.

Matthew 7:6 NLT

“Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you.

Wait a minute... if she's a cop and a professor, maybe she was talking about being a cop on the street. If that's the case then YES, making as many friends on the street as you can and not trusting anyone would be very good advice!

She was talking about college and networking and how making a friends will help get us jobs in the future
