This is a repost, I thought I would repost this here.

The worst kinds of unhappiness, as well as the greatest amount
of it, comes from our conduct to each other. If our conduct, therefore, were under the control of kindness, it would be nearly the opposite of what it is, and so the state of the world would be almost reversed. We are for the most part unhappy, because the world is an unkind world. But the world is only unkind for the lack of kindness in us units who compose it. ---
FREDERICK WM. FABER ----

How true is that statement, I feel that is what is going on in the world. Then you got to ask yourself, were does all this unkindness come from? were did it all stem from? and how has it populated the whole world? The lack of kindness all stemmed from us. and how we see the world today. Sure we can say oh the world don't care no more, and it it is unkind. But are we asking the right questions? are we covering up the true question that needs to be asked? Does all this unkindness come from you / me?

We constant telling people the the world is unkind. But not
consciously thinking about that question. The world is not at fault, it is not unkind, if anything the world has given us more than what we can handle, its the people on the world who mis-treat it, from our own conducts.

So does change come from the world? or does it come from us who live in the world?

We are not called to be kind, but loving. The problem with the world isn't a lack of kindness, but a lack of love. Kindness can many times cloak a very unloving attitude. But genuine love will show forth in genuine kindness.

I think the catalyst for the lack of kindness is defending ones own personal doctrine when they assume that another persons doctrine is in total conflict with their own. It is the doctrine that the person represents, or assumes the doctrine of another person is before giving them a chance to describe by asking leading question with rebuttals with labels that preempt any definitive explanation of beliefs.

Am I wrong in thinking that you are confusing being kind with being nice? I think we are commanded to be kind to one another, but there is no admonition to be nice (as Americans define it).

Yes, you are wrong in thinking that. Genuine kindness is an expression of love. “Love is patient, love is kind…."

It is the nature of a forum to be a place where ideas are attacked and defended. If some of those ideas happen to be doctrine, the forum's nature is not changed. To use a forum, as it is intended to be used, we must confine our attacks to ideas and not their sources. When an idea gets shot down, we are likely better off without it. When an idea is successfully defended, it is probably worth keeping.

If we put ideas that we are emotionally attached to on a forum we set ourselves up to be hurt. Such ideas are better placed on a bulletin board where nobody will shoot at them. That way they can be published in safety.

Being kind is actually a gift from God and it benefits us probably more than the person we are gracious with.

Boy, that sure goes against a lot of Scripture.

Looks as if you are describing what a non-Christian forum is that abuses God's word. LOL

I Think if a person were to put kind in the middle as a reference then what free in CHRIST is saying would be better understood by the listeners.

IE
1.)You are working at a retail store and you help a person and they perceive that you are being kind to them although your motive may be to get their business.

2.)you love someone and you help them with a sincere heart it will be genuine kindness because your motive is established in truth.
