Becoming an old childless cat lady has become the life goal for way too many people....
This is going to cause MAJOR societal consequences first....and then ultimately collapse.
Look, 100 women have to give birth to 210 babies to replace themselves.
Some will be too crazy, ugly, or antisocial to marry. Some women will have accidents or physical problems resulting in barrenness.
Some women will only be able to birth one child...others will produce 4.
Now we are facing a situation where 4 children will be a small family in the coming baby famine. 6 will be a minimum standard and 8 or more the gold standard.

How do I say this nicely? You're starting to sound like someone who is using faith as a shield against pain and disappointment rather than someone who is really dealing with your stuff. I've had seasons of that and still have some areas where I'm sure I do that but the whole me and Jesus alone against the world idea just isn't biblical. Nor is the idea that mortifying the flesh means trying to deny our physical bodies and how their processes affect us emotionally, psychologically, and spiritually. As a wise man once said, your body is just as much you as your spirit is you. Our culture has just been seduced by this idea that there's some sort of real me that is other than the sum of my actual thoughts, actions, and feelings. But we're known by what we do, even Jesus in Revelation repeats to all the churches I know your deeds not I know your good intentions and that you wanted to be a better person and all the sinful things you did weren't really you.
And um darnit, I think I better stop now because I'm preaching conviction to myself again.

Jesus touched people physically, He came in the flesh, He wept with others, He wasn't a private person when He was doing His ministry. Children would come up to him and he would bless them by touching them ie embracing them, holding them, placing his hands on them and praying - Blessing is conferred by touch.
eg Isaac blessed Esau and Jacob by placing his hands on them, and so did Joseph with Ephraim and Manesseh except Joseph crossed his hands ---

No. One can allow grief to bring forth envy, but grief and envy are separate emotions. Envy is a sin and grief is not. If you disagree then I am curious what verses led you to that conclusion.
Your understanding of The Holy Spirit does not line up with what I have experienced, though to be fair I used to think more as you do. I was raised on stoic philosophy.
Fortunately, God has shown me more of His character over the years and although I still lean heavily on the stoic side of the equation, I have come realize that God does actually enjoy seeing His kids enjoying life. No, that's not why He put us here but still... He truly does care.
Regardless, even if your understanding of the Holy Spirit is correct, to an extent it doesn't matter; we are not told to emulate the Holy Spirit, we are told to emulate Christ.
Hi Lovette, what you are describing above is almost certainly a trauma response, which is a type of defense mechanism (as you noted).
I do not know the nature of the abuse or the relation to your abusers, and I am proud of you forgiving them. But your nervous system has clearly not "forgotten" what you went through. Truly, I am very sorry for that
. If you are able to open up to just one trusted friend I think it would help immensely. Yes, we CAN walk this life alone with just Jesus, but that doesn't mean it's the best way. Even He sent the disciples out two by two so they wouldn't be alone. Perhaps you are more ok with solitude than most, there's nothing wrong with that. But you are allowing your trauma to take you farther away than God intended. You may have escaped your abusers physically, but they are still in your head guiding your mindsets and they do not deserve that position. Please take steps towards true healing, you are worth it!

Crying is actually healthy. Yes it unnerves people, but that's the point. Grief involves crying, it helps. To find solace in someones arms is a good thing. It helps with the healing process.

Forget it. The video lost me at that phrase. Canary in the coal mine is one of Chicken Little's favorite catch phrases when talking about why the world is doomed and why we should be scared about it.

29 men died in Pike River mine disaster they had no canaries they only had men. Who did whistleblow but the management didn't want to hear and ignored them.

To save the nearly extinct birds, there is a breeding programme, but the birds are encouraged to be promiscuous because just having a nuclear family won't save or build up the population.
