ive been thinking, and wonder if the 'world' has a few points when it comes to sex/initimatacy with their bf/gf. where people say it helps them bond and get closer...that i can get each other to open up more and trust each other more. and im not necissarily talking about intercourse, but other acts of intimacy too.

Now i also see how that can also be wrong in some ways, if a couple starts to use each other to satisfy their needs, or it becomes the only thing they do when they're together, and so they lack the communication that a couple needs when it comes to real-life situations and decisions. or if it becomes an addiction of some sorts? and again, im not just talking about intercourse, but initimate things/foreplay

meant to post this in the young adults forum, lol oh well. if its fine posting it here then its okay

well the right art is giving the love in marriage and giving themselves completely to one another which allows them to experience Christs love
but only through marriage

So the 'world' who degenerates and defiles and corrupts the good things of God, has a better idea on how to act in relation to intimacy than the one that Created those feelings and sensations? How does the creation know better than the Creator, exactly?
It is a worldly CONCEPT that you have to be close and intimate before marriage, so of course it makes sense.

Also, increasing closeness can often lead to a desire for more closeness, which can lead to a desire for intimacy, thereby increasing the likelihood of a couple. Is increasing that temptation really a better point? So far i'm not seeing how the world has any good points.

I think that you actually have a point. Intimacy DOES bring two people closer together, whether it's what they intended or not. But that's not a worldly viewpoint. That's just basic fact and how we were made. It's why intimacy is MEANT for marriage. So many people are hurt by becoming intimate with someone when there is no solid commitment, and it's not how it was meant to be.

The reason intimacy is meant to be saved for marriage is because the commitment before God and each other to become one (what marriage SHOULD be) goes hand in hand with sex and intimacy. To ignore this basic principle is to set yourself up for a lot of heartache and emotional damage. Are there stories that are exceptions? Of course. But they are the EXCEPTION, and for every exception there are a thousand torn apart hearts and lives.

Saving intimacy for marriage is not just some stodgy, outdated rule. I think it's unfortunate that this is what it's been turned into. If it's just some old rule, then it's easy to ignore... to the ruin and pain of many. So no. It's not just a rule. Honestly? It's also just a really good idea for your heart, soul, and mind.

Why would anyone want to share the most intimate part of themselves or attempt to know anyone that deeply who doesn't love them enough to respect their faith or marry them?

It's a recipe for heartache. God doesn't want that sort of damage for us. We steal from ourselves when we settle for the world's version of intimacy.

Sex is natural
Sex is fun
Sex is best
When its one on one

Yes, sex will bring a couple closer together, and marriage vows when made with true sincerity will protect that intimate relationship.
