The New Testament clearly says every man, woman, and child HAS to have a teddy bear. But if you can prove to me the New Testament is wrong, I shall gladly believe you.

A little common sense is required -- you can't prove anything about any text when the thing you want proof about simply isn't dealt with in that text. Your skills at logic are rated 0%.

Likewise giving your opinion as if it is God-inspired just proves you aren't knowledgeable about God at all.

Lol. You forget we are a nation that practices disestablishment (separation of church and state) and that our government is thereby enjoined from supporting any religious institution, including a religious state. Had you read the Constitution as well as the Bible you would know all that.

I am responding to everyone with the truth that they refuse to see - I post direct quotes from the Bible, not references to teddy bears. As I have written to others, if you find anything wrong here from me, by all means prove to me that it is wrong. Don't criticize. Just prove it wrong. So far, not one person here has proven anything wrong. All you do is to engage in recriminations, personal attacks, innuendo, and posting opinions that are not supported by anything in the Bible.

Again, show me where the Bible is wrong and I promise that I will believe you.
 
The Bible is not wrong, never was nor will it ever be wrong. It is people that get things wrong, maybe not intentionally but still it does happen. peacenik, I have in fact shown you that the shortly after Christ was put on the cross there was shown a difference in Gentile and Jew Christians. The elders of the church at the time had to have a special meeting on the subject to sort out what gentile christians had to do as new christians. I am not trying to be malicious or disrespectful in any way, please don't take it that way. The Bible clearly shows that christians are not physically Israelite's because of the spiritual change. If you think I am incorrect then by all means please explain Galatians 2:11-18. Why does the church set separate standards for Jew and gentile?

We are not talking about the governments role in supporting Israel as a nation...we have been talking in terms of the Christians in America moral support for the people of Israel. I could make a very strong case for Israel along political lines as well. By the way.. you clearly don't understand the separation of church and state ...we don't have a pope or leader of a church giving directives to our government ..we have the people and the government that is supposed to represent the will of the people ..whether those are based on religious desires or not ..

The idea that Christians are not supposed to shape our own society and government, is the biggest lie the liberals have ever told in America.

Does the Bible set different standards or did those particular parishioners do so? From that narrative it was they who did so, not the apostles: "[FONT=&quot]we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in[/FONT][FONT=&quot][a][/FONT][FONT=&quot] Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified"
This is why later on we read "there is neither Greek nor Jew ... all are equal ..."

Actually peacenik it was the apostles that set those very differences. It is clear that Peter and Paul that are having this misunderstanding. Peter had been sitting around eating as a gentile until some Jews that were sent by James came around. In fact it is clear that there is still a great deal of contention as to what the new christians had to do. As you read from pretty much Acts on you will be able to detect that no one knows for sure how to act. The Jew christians expect gentile christians to get circumcised and that was a very big deal in those times. The tension was coming to a head and many gentile christians were leaving the faith because of that one thing. The apostles had to come together with some of the newer Jew christians and clear things up. So yes the apostles were very much involved. You must know that Paul wrote Galations, the apostle Paul that was called the apostle to the gentiles.

Why did he write it? We can only speculate but from reading of all the division among the faithful, he decided it was best to end all such distinctions so that no one would believe one group was favored over another.

In thinking about this, I have wondered over the years why this has not been discussed more often among preachers. But clearly the bottom line is, all are equal. No distinction is made between people which would lead to "spiritual" heirs and "physical" heirs. The only thing we read of is "fellow heirs". Nothing more, nothing less.

Posters here believe the Israelites are the “Chosen ones” because the Bible says so & so it does. But you need to read on to get the whole picture. Yes, they were chosen only they were “chosen” to show us the difference between right and wrong. And it is the dark side they are showing us by their own example.

God commands us to care for our neighbors (who are everyone). Throughout history, He's placed special emphasis on the foreigner. Yes, the foreigner implies someone who came to another country, but with the advent of technology, our community has grown beyond the people that are right in front of us. In America, we have so much. People can be considered impoverished even if they have clothing, food, and shelter, things that some people in Israel (and other people) consider luxuries. I think it's our duty to help those in other countries, Israel included. How much we should give is a complicated matter, and one that all developed countries need to answer (not just the U.S.A), but being slighted by some isn't an excuse to allow those in need suffer.
 
Most of the money we give to Israel doesn't go to their needy.

Agreed, but you're talking about Foreign Aid as a sort of welfare program.

The money we have given to Israel largely goes to facilitate our military and intelligence partnership.
