Bread Crumbs “Chosen by God” October 5

The Christian’s function in the body of Christ is not decided by the individual Christian. The Christian’s purpose in the body of Christ is not decided by a committee of men or women. It is not decided by mom or dad who desires their child to be in ministry or to play an active role in the local church. We have far too many people trying to minister in a capacity that God has never called them to. Not everyone is going to have a pulpit ministry! Not everyone is going to have a music ministry! Just wanting to do a certain work in your local church or even seeing a legitimate need does not qualify a person for a specific task. When we take on a job that is not ordained for us by the Head of the Church (Christ), we hurt the Church by trying to do something we are not called to do. We also fail to operate in the responsibility that God has chosen specifically for us. Let the Lord lead you into your function. Do not be in a hurry to do something. Be in a hurry to become something. Then and only then will you be ready to handle the function that God has chosen specifically for you!

1 Chronicles 15:2 - Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 5:26
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Desiring vain glory is actually speaking of being conceited, which is to entertain flattering opinions of ourselves, which ALWAYS takes place when we are not walking after the Spirit. Remember, the very reason we have obtained this like precious measure of faith (Romans 12:2, 2 Peter 1:1) is to prevent us from thinking more highly of ourselves than we ought to. The measure of faith we have received only works when it is placed in the very place it was “MEASURED FROM”, which was The Faith of the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us (Galatians 2:20).

Everyone who is learning this great Sanctifying Truth of the Cross today is finally experiencing the movement and the power of the Holy Spirit, while everyone else is stuck in routines, and seeking after a glory that is vain (selfish). We can only be found in a subtle and manipulative way of provoking and envying each other if we are not looking at and trusting in Christ and His Redeeming work at the Cross daily. Don’t forget, those who crucified our Lord thought they were right with God and were doing the work of the Lord, but THE REAL WORK was right before their eyes being done by Christ and not them! Be found walking after the Spirit today through faith in the Cross. It’s your choice!

Bread Crumbs “God Answers Prayer” October 6

Every single believer needs to discipline themselves to participate in a personal prayer life. This is not a time of corporate prayer. It is not maintaining a sensitivity to the ever-present reality of God living in us. I speak of a personal time of private prayer. This is where the believer makes his petitions and requests known unto the Lord. The believer should know and understand that prayer does not always prod...uce instantaneous answers. But we pray reassured, through the authority of God’s Word, that every time we call on our Heavenly Father, He hears us, and it moves Him to action. Mine is not the wisdom of the Father and at times I grow impatient as I continue to seek Him in regard to situations, needs, or even hopes. But everywhere I look in scripture I am encouraged to knock and keep on knocking. I am exhorted to seek and keep on seeking. I am told to ask and keep on asking. For even though it may take some time, and even though things may not resolve or work out the way I perceived they should, there is one thing I am assured of. My Father will answer me and His answer will fit my need!

Luke 11:8 - I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 6:1
Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
...
If someone is overtaken in a fault, which is referring to someone who has begun to remove themselves from the One who has called them into this Grace (Galatians 1:6), as they are no longer walking in the Spirit, you who are spiritual (Those who are walking in the Spirit) should have the desire and leading of the Lord to see them restored. Remember that to walk in the Spirit simply means to trust in the work of Christ at Calvary with your heart (Romans 10:10, Galatians 1:1-3, 5:25).

The Child of God who is walking in the Spirit and attempting to help that one who is being carried away through the lust of his flesh, must do it in the spirit of meekness. Meekness always refers to humility, and humility does NOT exist outside of faith in the humble and obedient work of Christ at the Cross. If this is not the case, the helper will also be tempted and carried away, whether with the same fleshly lusts or that of something else because the attempt failed. Considering one’s self is making sure that we have more than a desire to see someone delivered who is under attack, but also that we are grounded in that through which God will deliver, which is the Cross of Jesus Christ and that alone!

Bread Crumbs “Doubt and Fear” October 7

Doubt and fear are twins birthed by unbelief. The Christian is called upon to live by faith. We are brought into the kingdom of God by faith and we are to exist and find abundant life by exhibiting faith in God's willingness to provide for us on a daily basis. We have to believe that God is ready, able, and willing to meet every need that we encounter. Jesus died on Calvary so that an entranceway into an inheritance from God could be established for us. Jesus told His disciples that after He departed from this world that all they need do was ask in His name and the Heavenly Father would equip them from this supernatural supply. The Christian has to rise above both doubt and fear and walk by faith in what God has promised He already has prepared for us. We must never doubt that God has our best in mind. We must never doubt that we qualify to receive these blessings by faith. Ultimately, we are qualified for His provision because of what Christ did for us at Calvary. When we truly believe that Christ has already paid for everything we may ever need, doubt and fear begins to fade away, being neutralized by the presence of simple faith.

John 14:14 - If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 6:2
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

To be found bearing another’s burden is to love them through their trying time, pointing them to Jesus and His work at the Cross, and to continually be praying for them. Fulfilling the Law of Christ is to love each other as He has loved us, and gave Himself for us. We must always remember that what we see our brothers and sisters entangled in today might very well be our own entanglement tomorrow. We must continue to love each other, and while that never means condemning them, it also never means avoiding the issue of dealing with the sin or the wrong object of faith which is causing the sin.

It is when we begin to think more highly of ourselves than we ought, that we either ignore those who are struggling, step on them while they are down, or try to help them in some other avenue than that which God works. This is not the Way of the Cross of Christ, but rather we are to express our Lord and Savior daily (Luke 1:74-75, Luke 9:23) and through faith in His Redeeming work, which is the only faith that God honors and that works by Love (Galatians 5:6), others will see that we are His Disciples! I pray those who have been brought back to the focus of Calvary will never allow that Light to be dimmed again!

Bread Crumbs “Humble Yourself” October 8

The only way to the top is by staying at the bottom! This is just another way of saying that humility which comes from the heart will open more doors than pride and arrogance. A person does better to continually bow before God rather than maintaining an independent and demanding attitude. The believer must come to recognize that God resists the proud. “Resist” is a military term that describes the activity of God setting up a military campaign against those who are operating in pride and self-reliance. There is no way for man to rise above and beyond the forces that God positions to stop men, as a result of their pride. It is better for us to take the low road. Relying and resting upon God requires humility. Man would oftentimes prefer to trust himself and take charge of the situation. But God asks us to surrender our will, our powers, and our reliance upon our own skill. Humility runs low like a river. That river may not appear to be a formidable force, but just stand in the middle of that stream and see how easy it is to stop the current from flowing. The best way up is by bowing down. Advancement is from Lord!

James 4:10 - Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 6:3
For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

Always read the Scriptures around the Scripture you may be struggling with and the Lord will show you the context of what He is saying to you. Here the man who might think he is something is the man who thinks he can help someone who is overtaken in a fault (Sin) without pointing him to the Cross of Christ. When we use God’s Word in the attempt to help someone, but do not point them to Christ and His Redeeming work at the Cross, we are thinking far too highly of ourselves than we should even if we do not realize we are (Romans 12:3). When we think we can help someone without the focus of Christ and His Cross, even if quoting Scripture to them, we are deceived ourselves.

I’m so regretful that I did not know these things so much earlier in life, but we move on in the Truth of the Cross today, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching for those things that are before me (Philippians 3:13). I’ve seen more people saved and delivered while the preaching of the Cross has taken place than I have ever seen at an altar after the Church service, for it is the Preaching (The Word) of the Cross which is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18). Thank God for altar calls and all that He does there, but it is only the confirmation of the Word with signs Mark 16:20). Cling to the Form of Sound Words which is the Word of God in it’s Gospel context, Christ and Him Crucified.

Bread Crumbs “The Temple of God” October 9

Every born-again believer has the Holy Spirit resident within their very being. At conversion, the believing sinner is granted the positional status of justification. This is a declaration of God, spoken over the heart and life of those who have chosen to depend upon Christ as their Savior. Having expressed faith in God's Son, God declares the believing sinner as righteous. Based upon this newly acquired status of justification, the believer is qualified for and instantly becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit. As soon as the Holy Spirit enters the new creation man, He begins the process of change. There is no destructive habit that He cannot overwhelm, overcome, or overthrow. There is no besetting sin or lingering vine of the fall that He cannot remove. He only asks that the believer keep their faith in Christ and His sacrifice on Calvary. Though growth is never as quick as we desire, there is no stopping the power of the Holy Spirit, who desires to cleanse this temple. Therefore, whatever is standing in the way, preventing, or even slowing down the believer’s new longing for holiness, is sure to be eliminated by the power of the Spirit. Be encouraged! Your victory is promised and assured through simple faith!

1 Corinthians 3:16 - Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

Bread Crumbs “True Prosperity” October 10

The Scriptures declare plainly that God desires to bless His people. There is no doubt that those who have chosen Christ as their Savior are a distinct people, a special people, a chosen people. Their primary responsibility is to exhibit and declare Christ to a lost and dying world. In order for this to occur, the transforming work of the Holy Spirit must first conform them into the image of Christ. This is done as the believer maintains simple faith in Christ and the Cross. There is true prosperity of the soul when evidence of Christ’s life in us increases and the image of the person we used to be, decreases. The true prosperity of the soul occurs as righteousness and true holiness is experienced, exhibited, and proclaimed. By embracing spiritual prosperity first, the believer is less likely to be thrown off course by temporal blessings. Earthly possessions should always matter less to us than heavenly passions. Physical blessings are not to be our focus. The believer experiencing true prosperity will not be “stumbled” by an increase in their financial or economic status. The true prosperity of the soul opens up the opportunity for God to bless His people in every capacity that Christ died to provide.

3 John 1:2 - Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 6:5
For every man shall bear his own burden.

Even if someone is praying for you, loving you, and pointing you to the Cross of Jesus Christ, which is bearing another’s burden (v. 2), the burden does not transfer from one to another, but that very one who is burdened still has to bear his own burden. We do not take burden’s away from others, but we only encourage them with the Truth of The Scriptures and prayerful support without kicking them to the curb.

Jesus came, and at the Cross bear all the burdens anyone will ever have upon them. He paid the price for our liberty and freedom, and the sooner we begin learning HIM IN THE SCRIPTURES, the sooner we will have more than words to look at or to speak, but the very Light and power of God for each step of our journey. The answer for every burden is Christ and His Redeeming work at the Cross, and all who offer anything other are only “Grace Blockers.” The fruit of what God is doing is the fruit of Righteousness, which only comes BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH IN THE CROSS (Galatians 2:21). When we leave the Cross of Christ out of the process, we exclude God from the process (Galatians 1:6, 5:1-4). Never leave the Truth of the Cross out of anything, but rather take it up daily and follow Christ!

Bread Crumbs “Patience in Prayer” October 11

The practice of daily prayer is often an exercise in patience. Much like the farmer who sows a seed and expects to reap a harvest months later, prayer could be viewed as the planting of desires that will ripen to a harvest sometime in the future. Just because we do not see an instant answer, a rapid response, or a split-second reply to our petition, does not mean that God has not already set things in motion to answer our prayer. We are to believe, that if we ask anything in accordance to His will, that God will oversee our request until it comes time to bring forth His response to our petition. We must never grow weary when delay seems the order of the day. We must continue to believe even when our hearts are breaking. Even when unbelief, like an unwelcome enemy, keeps hammering away on the door of our heart. We are to continue to ask! We are to continue to knock. We are to continue to seek! We are to persevere in the patience of prayer! It will help us to remember that we are guaranteed, on the authority of God's Holy Word, that He will always answer in His way and in His time.

Luke 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
