What happened in Japan is just how scary Natural disasters are, these things will increase however, so much so that God will call Jesus down and then save the ones that WANT to be saved!

There have been far worse disasters in the past. The reason this one is bad is not because of casualties, but because of the impact on resources. Also, natural disasters have not increased.. we are simply in much better communication with the goings on in the rest of the world and we live in a much higher and densely populated world. Having denser/higher populations means when a disaster hits an area, more people are guaranteed to die.

Back when people were more spread out, had less reliance on electricity and complex water distribution systems, and far less heavy/towering structures... many natural disasters were not nearly as devastating.

On a second note, Japan does not need our prayers... they need our help! In stead of praying for God to help them, why don't you pray that He will give you the motivation to get off your butts and send them aid.

You seem concerned for their survival. Why is that? I thought atheists believed that less people on this earth is better because then there will be more resources to go around.

You seem to be making assumptions on what I believe and my morality.

Yea I am (to be honest). So whats your answer? Or beter yet, if my assumptions are wrong, please tell me what the truth is. I'm just curious.

No need to be defensive. This will probably be the last question i ask. I hate discussions. They bore me.

Ok, nevermind. The thing is that I always thought that a true atheist would see a big natural disaster like this to just be another chapter in evolution. That these people died (and are dying) because the earth is evolving and when that happens, large populations will often be wiped out, maybe even the entire human race just like the dinosaurs.

And that true atheists don't regard humans as anything more than evolutionary masterpieces. So, even though its sad for all those people to die, I would think that a true atheist would be more interested in holding on to what they got and advancing themselves instead of giving something to help save needy people who have just sunk to the bottom of the list of "the fittest" (i.e., survival of the fittest).

Anyway, I have nothing against atheists. I don't agree with their views, but I don't hate them or anything.

Peace :)

if you hate discussions and dont know what the truth then i suggest this. you have the interent go and do some research on atheism and evolution look at different sources and look at the background of those source to see which are credible and which are not if you dont understand what i mean i give an example there are 2 books about how a computer works one done by a computer tech the other by a dentist the one you should refer to is the book done by the computer tech.

by doing this you will know what atheist mean and have a better understanding of everything therefore you wont make silly assumption and mistakes in the future. instead of waiting for some1 to give you an answer that could possible be wrong

I don't have to research anything. Jesus already showed me he is real.

And if I made a silly assumption, then call me on it. Tell me what I said was wrong and tell me the way it really is. Correct me. Don't just say, "go do a bunch of research."

So anyway, atheists only care about others to keep the human race alive right? They don't believe in love right? They believe that emotions are just chemical reactions in our brain right?

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I can handle it.

I think I might have to start an atheist questions thread.

No offense, Wolfy, I actually think you are a pretty cool person. It just bothers me when an atheist does something a christian would do and then not be able to say why they felt the need to do it. They sort of catch themselves believing in something greater than just matter and chemical reactions, but they can't admit it.

honestly i dont see how jesus showing himself to you means you dont have to do research if you want to understand something then thats what you would do researching atheism knowing the history isnt going to convert you.

this is your problem atheist are not a group they are indivudal people with different views on different views and all your doing is explaining the science of what goes on in the human body if we see someone we are attracted to that has nothing to do with love. i love my friends i will gladly risk my life for my friend or anyone for that matter and the reason why is because i can and because i want to i belive that no one should have their life taken away by force if i intervine then i am chosing to give my life for them

i can do the same thing your doing heres 2 example .

your a christian why do you go to the doctors when your sick if you belive god heals all through the power of pray dont your trust your gods abilty to do things.

your a christain the only reason you do good things and act good in gods eye is so you can be rewarded for it when you die and go to heaven. you dont actully care about the people you help your just helping yourselfs. tell me if there was no god or no reward for it will you still do those things.

it is not what we belive that enable use to do these things its what we are that enables us to do these thing

hey Wolfy don't lump all Christians into that statement. I would still do the same things if I got only a day in God's court and a 1000 in Hell. It is not because of the reward but out of love that God first gave me that I love and help others. I know many who feel the same, though many Christians do not deserve the honor of being called children of God, its only through God's mercy and grace anyone is saved. therefore I will pray for you both zeroturbulence and Wolfy.

Zero, atheist are moral because they believe in doing what is right for the sake of doing right, many believe in Truth and Justice and are guided by principles and personal codes some slack "christians" have forgotten or ignored. Doing as Paul condemned by using "grace to cover vice" thus the name of believers are blackened and judged as no better and at times worse then the rest of the world.

Its in the Letter to Romans.

Wolfy, people need to read and live their Bible's I apologies for my brothers and sisters for their RUDENESS and ignorance. There is no excuse. If they want to bring people to God then first they must have LOVE.

Peace of the Lord be with the people who walk the path of Righteousness.

Ok. Well we go to doctors because God never promised that He's heal us all with miracles. Jesus said "according to your faith it will be done to you", and the reason I said he has shown himself to me is because I did receive a miracle healing.

And yes, Wolfy we are also selfish (a lot of christians are not going to like that I said that lol) but in truth you are right. We are good so we can get into heaven. God also sacrificed his only child for us because He did not want to be lonely in heaven. There is no getting around doing something out of freewill if the ultimate benefit is not yourself.

Do you realize that your love for others is christian and not atheistic? I do understand atheists. I thought of becoming one once when I was younger. I've only been a christian for the last 5 years. I just see too much evidence of an intelligent creator to buy that there is no god. Not only that but there is evidence that suggests there are other dimensions. Scientists have recently split the tiniest subatomic particle known as a quark. It is what makes up protons and neutrons in an atom. They used a particle accelerator and smashed two of them together trying to find out what they are made of. What they found was nothing. There was nothing smaller than these particles. The scientists were astonished. They themselves stated that there must be an invisible force which keeps these particles together (quarks, protons, atoms, molecules, etc...). Its is like a car with all of the necessary parts there to make it work and it is driving around BUT there is no one inside driving it.

Two hands working can do much more than a thousand hands clasped in prayer. Prayer doesn't work, get out and donate and actually help these people.
