Alright, here it goes. For the past few months these people have regulary come to my town and started trying to convert ( or brainwash) the folks who live in my area. They know I am a born again christian, and every time the same people come to my house, there is like a little mexican standoff. I be polite as I can, but they still insult me and push this garbage on me. Does anyone out there have any good lines to say to them which contradicts their beliefs? Or anything else in general against them. I don't like to attack another persons religion, but these people knowingly attack and disrespect mine, and seem to take delight in it. Any insights or witty or biblical remarks would be appreciated. Thanks.

These people can be a real pain in the posterior and there comes a time when you need to make a firm stand against them, just tell them that you look upon them as destructive heretics because they reject the deity of Christ and to sod off and not call or bother you again!

Yahweh Shalom...

oh man.. you're in quite a pickle. sounds like to me they look forward to arguing with you. In this case the only advice i have is wwjd. I think in this case Jesus would just ignore them. if come up yo your door don't answer it but pray for patience cuz odds are they will ring you door bell for a while but eventually they will go awayLOL I mean it's not like they can stay there all day i am sure they have other people to pest. Is there some sort of law agains them being on your property or something?

These people aren't doing their job that well if they're insulting you. Maybe instead of heading down the route everyone else would take, why don't you love your enemies and embrace them?

Offer to read the bible with them, their bible is horribly translated to the point where it is changed, but still useful. Encourage them to read it themselves.

For crying out loud be nice to them and at least invite them in for tea.

Assuming you tried clarkthomson's advice, let me suggest: There is no such word as Jehovah in the Bible. Really.

When the Hebrews got back from the Babylonian exile, they felt too sinful to utter the name God gave Moses. When they prepared the reference Hebrew Bible for themselves, they left out the vowels (since the Hebrew text doesn't need them) in the name YHWH when they put all the other vowels in for the other words. The vowels have been lost to history. The Hebrews wrote a footnote in the text, "say Adonai instead". Adonai means Lord. When they made the King James Bible, they needed the missing vowels, so they took the vowels from Adonai. That gave them YaHoWaH for the name of God. They adjusted to the British accent of the day, so Y became J, a became e or a, depending on position in the word, and W became V, hence the name Jehovah. They are witnessing to a historical lie.

That usually confuses the street evangelists enough. I was once promised a visit by a bishop or something, but they never came. I assume he would have tried to tell me they witness to whatever Jehovah really means, but it's kind of hard to witness to something you can't even pronounce.

LOL about the standoff. I remember as a kid, my father tried to shut the door on them, and they put their foot in the door, trying to keep it open! I remember it clearly, to this day! You could try something like this.......

CALL THE POLICE!!!!

Jehovah's Witnesses are in *breach of the preach*.
Jehovah's Witnesses proselytizing is a false Gospel. (Gal. 1:8)

Straight up doctrinal facts on Jehovah Witness.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses teach preach that Jesus had his return aka second coming October 1914,then they spin all sorts of doctrinal embellishments on that date.
They teach only 144,000 go to heaven,on and on and on with made up man made dogmas……They have infighting, crime and child abuse as bad as any church out there.

Jehovah’s Witnesses promotion of their Watchtower sect has the net effect of stumbling and turning people off to the real Gospel.
Jesus said: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte; and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves” (Matt 23:15)

I grew up as a Jehovah witnesses, my whole family are witness i live with my father and brother who have that state of mind, im about the only one in my dads side of the family who is classified as christian. My grandparents are elders in the church, it is very hard to speak to them about the cross ,and the trinity. I love Jehovah witnesses simply cause of the fact there very devoted, theyve just been misinformed. They way to talk to them is to point them back to Jesus always talk about Jesus, who he is, how it was possible for him to die for us, talk about us been sinners through adam. Stay away from, talking about the 144,000, dont use the word"cross" use the original greek word for cross "stauros" which means torture stake but we know he died on a cross, if they argue about the cross, give them this verse from their on bible the"New World Translation" John 20:25 Consequently the other disciples would say to him: "we have seen the Lord!" But he said to them:"Unless I see the in his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger in the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side, I will certainly not believe". Now notice the nails imprint comment, if he died on a stake like they show in many images, then thomas would had said the nail. If they try to justify that then point them to mathew 27:37 also they posted above his head the charge against his head, the charge against him, in writing"This is the king of The Jews" If you notice there images of christ being nailed to a stake, the sign post is above Jesus hands not head. One more passage i would equip you with, first of all ask God when to use this, cause you might want to talk about Jesus and how he fullfill the Law and how we are sinners first (or however god guides you), then when your about to close ask for there bible, and go to John 20:28 In answer Thomas said to him "My Lord and My God!" Hallelujah! God sent them to you. They might think that theyre there to convert you but theyre there to know Jesus though you, Show them Love and find a common denaminator Jesus.

you must understand that they want you to go back and forth with them. be strong show restraint and as respectfully and firmly as you can announce your religion and your beliefs and tell them you want nothing to do with theirs then step back AND SHUT YOUR DOOR RIGHT IN THEIR FACE!!!! :D :) ;)   (joke joke joke) just close the door. if you have told them you don't want what they are selling and to leave and they refuse then this becomes a matter of trespassing and now you have full authority to deal with the trespasser as you see fit.

HOPE THIS HELPS

no need to get biblical with them that's what they are trying to do with you. they believe interrupting your weekend with your family after a long week of work is BIBLICAL :) :D :p
