I've re-dedicated my life to the Lord after fighting against him the last 6 months. as everyone in the world knows, I party too much. I party for the sake of partying and basically because I can. I buy a bottle of spirits and drink it and then I go into town and randoms keep putting drinks in my hand. I end up with a harem of phone numbers on my mobile and I can't even remember whose face matches what number and sometimes I'll end up doing something ridiculous like endagering my safety or worse my life. And I am sick of it. Now don't get me wrong thinking that I lied about being happy because I really am overjoyed. Life has been so awesome the past 6 or so months; I've lost 10 kilos so far, I'm working full time, I love myself, I'm single and can do whatever I please and I've met some really cool people. I've had the best time I could have ever asked for. But I am spiritually dead and this will impact on my happiness eventually. I am not sure why I desire to go hard all the time. Maybe because I have no rules and I don't owe anyone anything so I'm trying to burn out my need to cut loose hoping that it is just a phase and a result of being in a really bad relationship with a man who iss practically inhabited by a legion of demons. He is an alcoholic and a wife beater and after I finally got the courage to leave him I swore to myself that I would never let a man do that to me again and that in place of the year and a half of misery with him, I would do everything I could to have fun and to never experience sadness or pain again. I don't have a man that I need to consider or factor into anything so I'm just running amok with no restraints. And I've loved it. I still do but it's killing me in a lot of ways. And being drunk and falling over is not who I am. At least it's not who I want to be. And that undeniable voice is always in my head saying "WHAT ARE YOU DOING"!? but I just brush it aside. Sometimes I catch myself talking back to it in my head telling him to "shut up". Anyways I have so far to go with God and myself and I am exhausted thinking about it and feel like it's pointless because I think that I'll never have a satisfactory walk with the Lord and I'll wind up serving the enemy in hell. I don't want this so I'm going to try my hardest to break free of his strongholds and into victory with Christ. So if anyone wants to pray for my success then I certainly wouldn't mind. I want to stop this lifestyle before I seriously hurt myself :(

dear jenesis- i have prayed for you and i was asking the Lord to show me the right scripture to show you and Matthew 6:24 came to my mind. it talks of us not being able to serve two masters. it is refering to money but we can also compare it to the world. when i was you age i too was a Christian yet i was not living for God i was living for a good time. there was times i would stay out till all hours and get up and go to sunday school and church still hung over. i ask the Lord for forgiveness for this! it took some time for me to realize that i could be happy and have a good time living in God's will! this takes A LOT of prayer and also changing things. i gave up "friends" and yes there were a lot of nights that i stayed home alone but it was different when i stayed home instead of doing something unGodly - i was at peace. i did not feel like i was missing something. please think about this and i pray that you do not take as long as i did (into my thirtys) to realize that God is enough!!!!!!!!!!

p.s.- one of the best things i want to encourage you to do is find a Christian youth group - maybe through a local church, even if it is not your own church. having others that care about the things we do helps! even just one Christian friend would be a help and a blessing!

GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Re: Jenna The Binge Drinking Drunkard...

Thank you for your prayer. I don't even go to church after a night out cos I couldn't enter God's house drunk. But then again it would probably be better than not going at all. :)

Jenna, Ive been there many of times and my will was the same Im my own boss, and I can do whatever I want. And I hurt myself repeatedly, I was spriritually dead. I shut God out and pushed him away. And you know when you are a child of God he never forsakes you. He brought me out of drugs 15months ago. And im going through a very hard breakup with my exfiance. And 23 days ago I walked into a christian based 12-step recovery meeting and I cried out I needed a sponsor and that I don't want to drink anymore. That was 23 days ago today. I battled with alcoholism for 14years and Im 32 years old and about ready to be a grandma in May. I don't have to drink today. And mostly I don't have to drink over any situation. I put my life back into Gods hands. I have a sponsor I call every morning. I read my bible and constantly meditate on thing of the Lord. There has been times that I felt I was getting anywhere or that I was complacent, But I pray the desire and willingness to seek God whole heartlly. And he is there. I pray that you seek him cause he will speak to you and tell you that he loves you. You are not alone. God bless you and bring you to him closer than before. Amen

Hey Jenna, Ive been there. It isnt easy, but its not as hard as you think. when you give it to God and don't take it back and allow the holy spirit to lead you. Remember you are not alone. He knows everything in your heart your pain your lonelyness. I to use to drink and end up with phone numbers. And worst of I ended up with men in my bed and having sex with couples and alot of things of satan that wants you to feel bad cause you messed up. But Im here to tell you we all fall short of that glory but God forgives, restores, loves each of us. And when he died on that cross, he died for your sins and mine. I am forgiven. I owe God my life to be pure, holy, and only for him at this time. I am single and struggle at times with two teenage girls, and going to be a grandma. But I know that if you ask God anything he will do it. You pray for willingness and the desire to seek him. Read your bible everyday because you will begin to change when you cleanse your mind and put things of God into your spririt. I have 23days clean from drinking. I drank for 14years. And God delivered me from meth the devils drug 14months ago. I am a miracle. God Loves You

Hey everyone this is Jenna the reformed binge drinking drunkard and I wanted to tell everyone that because of your prayers and the awesomeness of our God, I have zero desire to go out clubbing and drinking tonight. I say with absolute conviction that God is working in my life to bring about the changes I've wanted so desperately. I have struggled with trying to abstain from this lifestyle for three months and normally I'd be picking out what to wear and going to the bottle shop to pick up a bottle of vodka but instead I've gone and spent this money at the Christian bookshop and am looking forward to coming home from work tonight and reading with the peace of knowledge that I won't wake up in tatters with a hang over and hate myself for my weaknesses that I felt I had no control over. I also wish to note that God has made sure that I am working the late shift tonight so that by the time I finish it will be too late to succumb to the temptation anyways. Our God is so amazing that he has put extra measures in place to ensure that I can be victorious over the enemy. Praise to the Lord. I love him so much.

Once again thank you so much for your prayers.

Love Jenna

Hi Jenna,

This is what the Lord says, (Jeremiah 29:11-14)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,

says the Lord,

thoughts of peace and not evil,

to give you a future and a hope.

Then you will call upon Me and go pray to Me,

and I will listen to you.

And you will seek Me and find Me,

when you search for Me with all your heart.

I will be found by you, says the Lord,

and I will bring you back from your captivity.

I am praying for you!

Just keep your eye on Jesus!

The Lord knows you better than you know yourself,
trust in the one who made you!

He does have good plans for you,

When God made each one of us, he did not just throw somthing together and say,

Let's see what this one turns out to be!

Everything was carefully plan out, and has a purpose!

Gods ways are not our ways!

Things happen, but through it all, God has a way of making it all turn to your Good!

We are more than overcomers, and we can do all things through Christ Jesus!

I use to drink like a fish, at least a fifth a day!

The Lord loves you very much, and is more patient than you or I could ever be!

Get ready!

Your life is about to change!

GLory To The King! Jesus!

Father Glorify Your Son today!

You know Jenna, we all deal with challenges that seem overwhelming and the Bible gets us through them (particularly Proverbs!). Like many of us, you are here to become a better person, and you should be happy about that. Prayer and praying on particular sections of the Bible (in my case, at the beginning of the day) really works. Also, believe it or not, the finest Bible I have ever encountered for addressing personal issues is the Gideon Bible, available free in practically every hotel and doctor's waiting room in the free world.

Best wishes and GB.
