how do you follow Christ, if you make his commands not important though>? He himself makes them important and equates them with loving him? how do you follow Jesus and not concern yourself with His teachings that He said " do this, if you don't, this other thing will happen? you ARE separating Jesus from what He said, not me, your not jiving with His words, it isn't me you have issue with, its the teachings of your King, His commands somehow offend you, and because I see Him saying " these are commands, follow them" I'm somehow wrong here. Jesus clearly says what he says. His words are not only for the jews. but for all nations to learn and obey. why opr how do you say that's not the way when Jesus taught it clearly?
Love does no harm and is therefore the fulfillment of the law. How do you keep forgetting this?

How do I follow Jesus? By following Him where He leads. Is there another way?

Let's not let anything deceive us about what Christ has already done for us. Paul warns the Colossians about listening to man-made traditions that sound good but they are not according to Christ. ( this includes His completed work on our behalf )

Christ has made us complete in Him now. We are just working outwardly what already is in us in Christ - to reflect the life of Christ to a hurt and dying world.

Colossians 2:8-10 (NASB)

[SUP]8 [/SUP] See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.

[SUP]9 [/SUP] For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,

[SUP]10[/SUP] and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority;

Love does no harm and is therefore the fulfillment of the law. How do you keep forgetting this?

I don't lol I'm saying Jesus teaches it. look even the 10 commandments are how to Love. its not Love to kill, cheat, lie, steal sleep with your neighbors wife ect...those would be harmful to your neighbor would they not? if we eliminate Gods word, we have no way to know Gods way of Love wich is true Love. Love fulfills the law because it does no harm, by not transgressing the laws like " do not bear false witness against your neighbor" that would be harmful. that's the law of moses. don't do these things, they will harm your neighbor.

Jesus however is more about what TO do to Love one another. He isn't much about what NOT to do that would harm your neighbor that's law " the law makes us conscious of sin" Jesus commands are different, they are what TO do in order to Love as He loved us. by laying ourselves down in response to Him laying his self down for us. Jesus teaches " if someone does you wrong, forgive them, bless those who do you wrong, who slander you, give to those who have need ect.

do you see the difference magenta? the law is " don't do these things, they are sin." the law is about not harming your neighbor, Jesus is about Loving thy neighbor. in the law its snough to not sleep with a persons wife, in Christ, Lust is the focuse because if I am eating with my neighbor and lusting after His wife, I am not walking in Love. inside, I'm corrupt and that lust motivates adultery. Jesus teaches HOW to Love, what TO do. the law is "what NOT to do in order to not harm your neighbor.

you want to say just love, but what does God say Love is and whay doid Jesus teach what He taught? to teach His followrrs how to be Like Him, how to Love His way

If you love me, keep my commands....my command is this, that you love one another AS I HAVE LOVED YOU. Jesus way of Love is what He teaches us. think of it " bless those who persecute you" " to those nailing him to the cross he said forgive them Father, they know not what they do" bless those who persecute you. he teaches us to be like Him, love like Him. the only way to learn from Hoim is to accept HIS word on all of this. its really pretty clear if we search it out and just believe Jesus. its true, Love one another, Love God with all you are is the fulfillment of all the law and all the prophets, what is Love if we omit Jesus gospel though is my point? its not me saying obey Jesus....its Jesus saying, obey my commands.

Your error seems to be in assuming that those who are
led by the Spirit need to keep their eyes on the law.

Lets not let anyone deceive us indeed into omitting what Jesus the Lord says to do concerning salvation, after all Jesus is the one who provided it, lets take Jesus word on it and not be deceived into thinking were already perfect as I would think paul would have taught you.

" phillippians 3 :12-14 "Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect , but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

is this a guy who taught he was already perfect? or already like Jesus? someone who taught there is no work or effort to be done? time to begin omitting paul now wherever he doesn't jive with jps brand of salvation ugh.....

Your error seems to be in assuming that those who are

nope your error is equating Jesus commands to law. when you read the word Law in pauls writings hes referring to the mosaic. the don't do this law. you are absolutely supposed to keep your eyes on Jesus, spirit? " the word I have spoken to you they are spirit and life"

walking by the spirit is impossible without the words od Jesus Christ, His gospel. again magenta you want to say just love. but how do we know what love is if we omit the commands that are Love? its nonsense to think jesus died for me, told me obey my commands, go teach all nations to obey all I commanded you" and now all the sudden, we don't concern ourselves with His words ? and somehow can walk by His spirit that comes through His word into us???? the holy spirit was who Jesus was speaking from, its not now in us going to omit the words He taught, those words you all want to look away from are His spirit and the only life Christians have,

honestly thou, you can go walk by the spirit anyway you feel like works for you but there is no error in the words of Jesus, sorry you all seem so offended by me, but its only because I stick to Jesus and what He teaches and that doesn't jive eith the gospel of grace, God Loves you.

That is a wonderful verse. Thanks for posting it.

We are already perfect in our spirits - the new man in Christ - now we have to work that outwardly while we are in this flesh.

Hebrews 12:23 (NASB)
[SUP]23 [/SUP] to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,

Paul is saying in Phil 3:12-14 that he has not yet attained to manifest all that Christ is in him now and that he is forgetting all the good and the bad that was in his past as He presses on to walk out the life of Christ that is in him - including Paul's calling from God to "reveal Christ" in Paul.

Awesome verse. Thanks again for posting it.

Galatians 1:15-16 (NASB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] But when God, who had set me apart even from my mother's womb and called me through His grace, was pleased

[SUP]16 [/SUP] to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with flesh and blood,

Jesus gospel is the gospel of grace. The entire message is all about knowing our true identity in Christ and having faith that we are who God says we are. Until you have faith in your true identity you can not follow Jesus commands to love God 1st and love others as we love ourselves.

lol yeah its all grace. noi work, no straining forward, no running a race, no pressing forward. paul was just again saying all by grace lol alright bruce....alright. God loves you.

My identity is a follower of Jesus Christ, someone who learns his teachings and applies them to life. that's your identity in Christ, bruces identity in Christ, it was pauls identity in Christ. infact every single person who accepts Jesus Christs identity is " follower of Jesus Christ" there you go now you know your identity, and what does a follower of Jesus do?

"if you Love me, obey my commands" simple stuff. many strange ideas in the world, Jesus ideas are the truth from God, all the writings after are only telling you that He is your Lord, you are His servant, and if you do ehat He commands, he calls you friend. when you obey so that you have sincere Love for others, you are a child of God in the image of His son. any Christian is Jesus follower. those who obey Him are His friends, but always He is Lord. my identity is a follower of the Lord, same and only identity and Christian can ever really find.

but I do agree with you Jesus Gospel is the only Gospel of Grace. as taught in matthew, mark, luke and John

nope your error is equating Jesus commands to law.
I don't know why you would say that when over and over and over again I have responded to you with how Jesus' command to us to love fulfills the law. You are terribly confused.

No Jason...you completely missed what was being said...but that's ok....:)

There is a pressing forward into knowing Him and the race that we run is the good fight of faith - faith in what Christ has done for us and by relying on His work only. That is the fight of faith.

God already has planned out the good works that we are to walk in and it is all by grace through faith alone. Christ is the Vine - we are the branches - the life of Christ bears His fruit in and through us to a hurt and dying world as we yield to Him.

Ephesians 2:8-10 (NASB)
[SUP]8 [/SUP] For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;

[SUP]9 [/SUP] not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

[SUP]10 [/SUP] For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.

The Gospel of Christ is the Gospel of Love. Grace is a fruit of the Love God has for His children. Everything we find in Scripture that comes from God is a fruit of Love. Sorry, had to make that known.

Without the Love of God, grace would have never been imparted unto us.

no magenta, I'm telling you the gospel, you are holding to circles. without the Gospel teachings of turning the other cheek, forgive and be forgiven, be merciful ect...all that Jesus taught, WE WOULD STILL BE UNDER THE OLD COVENANT. that's how important they are. you have heard, but I tell you. stone the sinner became forgiven NOW GO AND SIN NO MORE. the only way that anyone on this site, or in the world now knows what Jesus said is the written word of God. the accounts of Jesus own words. you guys are omitting the only Life in Gods word by omitting Jesus words. how important are Jesus words to you magenta? you guys are so circular. I love Jesus I know who I am in Christ. but if you hear Jesus words obey my commands.....then here you all come like a pack of coyotes " works" herecy" ect...ot like you've stated here I'm terribly confused because I believe what Jesus Himself says throughout his gospel

your arguments are ridiculous to me because jesus is the one I'm saying go to see what hes saying, hes the one saying obey me. repeatedly he teaches that principle in the gospel. so do the apostles. you guys are blinded by a false doctrine, so you hear the real gospel and it offends you so much because its like this response

" what! this guys saying Jesus said to obey His commands?? what ? Jesus said only those who do Gods will will be saved? huh? heretic. Jesus taught that those who do not learn and do His word will end in total destruction ??huih...but HE did teach all of this. the gog doctrine is a false teaching that has you all deceived. its another form of " surely it wont Kill you, " after God said it will. Jesus says these things in Hois words none of you will ever have a valid argument for ommital of what the gospel actually says. Jesus says the truth, eternal salvation regardless of your obedience to Jesus is a false doctrine. he does not teach a doctrine where obeying Him is not what we should be focused on, because if were "turning the other cheek" were Loving if were forgiving others" were loving all he taught is Love, that is why you need to learn, and do what hes saying that is how you guys will be made into who you are supposed to be, its not magic, it comes through the word, yes the word you hear, read, and learn and do.

sure but if we say I love God and everyone else, and were living a selfish life doing nothing Jesus taught us, Jesus who says " if you Love me, you will obey my commands" " the one who has my commands and obeys them is the one who Loves me" and much more like that, then how does grace excuse our behavior for all of eternity? when you really grasp Gods all consuming Love. you will do what Hes saying, even if its not fun or conveinient at the time. your time will be spent on others rather than yourselves, you will treat people like He taught, we have to first say " hes Lord" and honor what we said. if He is Lord, His word is the word Of God. the written word gets written on our hearts as we study it, hear it, and also much more practice it. it doesn't just happen by omitting all the things that are now our responsibility to actually do, by the commands of Jesus Himself.

He is Love, the worlds Love is not Gods, we will never just feel like doing what were supposed to, even Jesus was struggling before the cross with what he was commanded to do. he did not feel like all his suffering and agonizing death, but he did it, BECAUSE of Love he loves us so he did it. love is not an inward thought it has to be real, with action and truth. we need to actuall forgive, actually care for the needy....its not knowing it, its doing what we know. its good to Know he saved us by grace and because of Love, but when you come to that Knowledge, Hes the Lord He says do these things, so whether I need to make myself do something he says, I'm not trying to save me, I'm Loving God His way. this all isn't about being nice Love is self sacrifice, that's what it is.

greater Love has no man than this, that He should lay down his life for a friend." so then Gods true Love is self sacrifice. by us laying down our desires and actions that do not please Him, those actions that will kill us, even though we know weve been saved, there is a second death taught in the word. selfishness is deadly, greed, lust anything contrary to Gods commands Gods ways. we have to learn what to do and accept with faith what hes saying to do, and then goi expres that faith in him, by doing what he said to do, because we have faith. there is a testing of faith that requires a response. Love is not just a thought or feeling, it is action and truth, jesus taught that truth and those actions

Like "grace," "obedience" is a FRUIT of God's love.............ALL THINGS THAT ARE GOOD AND RIGHT COME FROM GOD ABOVE. And they ALL are a "fruit" of His love.

The Gospel of Christ is NOT the Gospel of Grace........it is the Gospel of Love..........Gods undying, unmerited love, underserved, unrestricted love for His children. That is my point.

:)

this is Love for God, that we walk in obedience to His commands, and His commands are not burdensome. it all comes from God indeed, but he does not remove mans free will, Jesus is a choice, every day "

luke 9 :23 "Then Jesus said to all of them, "If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me."

God Loving US giving us His love, doesn't excuse us from LOVING Him in return is my point. like if a dad loves His kids, the kids don't do what their dad says, that's not acceptable. and worse. if a kid has a bad habit that's eventually gonna kill them or really hurt them, a dad who didn't tell them to not do that wouldn't be a great parent.

sin is death, that's why God says don't do it. righteousness as taught by Jesus, is Life, that's why God says do it. he wants us to live forever and not die. obedience shouldn't be an option or argument. and God should absolutely be reveared as a Father would, dads more powerful, wisdom Fears the Lord, while not shrinking by being afraid, but He is reverenced at all times, for His power and glory and majesty above all.

I do not think you are understanding the point I am trying to make........... :)

Given that........I'm gonna go have a nice hot, fresh brewed cup of coffee.......

God bless
