Today I woke feeling very sad and my heart was filled with an agony unexpressible because for a few weeks now, I have not felt the presence of God in my life. I have prayed and cried and sought the Lord. I have even gone to people for prayer and yet I could not shake this horrible feeling of alienation from God. I asked if it was sin and racked my brains trying to fathom what it could be and yet God seemd silent.
This morning I said to God “God I know ALL your promises are true and one of your promises is that you will never leave us nor forsake us and I am going to hold that up before my eyes until your presence returns. If I cannot sense your presence it is not because of you. Your promises are true and you will never go back upon your Word. Lord I request this one thing…that in this day you would show me that I am yours. Amen
So…the day went on amid sighs and I forgot my prayer. In the afternoon I decided to take my Bible study notes down to the park and study amongst the squirrels and the oak trees. I walked toward my favourite spot (cup of tea in hand) when a couple of teenagers who I have spoken to a few times whilst witnessing, started shouting at me and jabbing their fingers in my direction for all to see.
I was delighted and tears of joy ran down my face because they were shouting…
“LOOK! IT'S JESUS GIRL!!”
I was filled with so much joy I could not contain it and shouted back…
“Yes! That’s me! I AM JESUS GIRL! THANK YOU JESUS!!”
He had answered my prayer through these two teenagers who had intended me harm but unwittingly been Gods instruments for good. Praise the Lord! Thank you Jesus! What a privilege to be identified with you Lord! Bless your Holy Name.
