They know it's Jesus comin'... They want a be at church when He comes.

I pray that you will come to the truth before it is too late. Scripture clearly states that we will meet HIM in the air, the church MUST be taken out of the way before the tribulation. Gods speed to you.....

Obviously he's being sarcastic, or possibly drunk. Maybe stirring the pot. But there is a small point to be made in there. I don't take pleasure in peoples sufferings, but as I see the world suffering ever more because of it's own doings, it does warm one small corner in my heart to know we're that much closer.
And I've always thought those who say it's not gonna be in their time are going to be the ones who get suprised.

The Rapture (meaning Christians being taken up to Heaven before the end begins) is incorrect and based upon the Left Behind series. It somehow made it into contemporary Christian belief, but its not biblical. The church throughout history never believed in the rapture.
Matthew 24:37
"As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. The verse references Noah, who was left behind while everyone else was swept away by the flood. So it will be at the coming of Jesus. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken , one will be left: you WANT to be the one left behind.
I'm currently studying Apocalyptic literature in the New Testament at a Christian University.
I think you should listen to nautilus and dont you stand there on the side of the road with one of em jesus be comin signs now : D We dont know when jesus is coming.. I sure hope he will come as soon as possible.. But I wont be dissapointed if he waits untill after im dead.. When I look around I think to myself now how could darkness rise any higher? Maybe it will get darker than this.. we might be far away from the coming of jesus..
There are more wickedness in high places more than ever.. well I sure wont loose anything by living as if he will be here in my lifetime.. surely does raise my hope.. But you shouldnt be happy because more people are suffering.. although it does bring more people closer to god.. but then you should be happy cause of that! :O

God choses suffering untold to cleanse wickedness (Revelations). Might’s? The mien of one of your paragraphs seems Vega and doubtful! Happiness in others suffering is not the intent but the fulfilling of the plan and Magnificent of his words of all events and fore telling, also the spiritual response is joy. Joy that our redemption is close which apprehending excitement is. Paul by the Holy Spirit said, (obvious) “we would not be in the dark”, about it. A rhetorical question what time references were used to describe that no one knows when He is coming for us? Day(not days) or Hour did He say week or month or year? What if the Holy Spirit readies hearts and souls and also reveals quidnunc to us who are living would not He excite or communicate to our hearts and what if He willing helps us, revealing to us to prepare, urgency? The Holy Spirit in our heart cries, “come Lord Jesus” the intensity of birth pains of society, nature and our souls, would loving our life here exceed wanting to be absent from this world to be present with Jesus?
Seems to me you are siding with this poster. I think the point she/he is making is that people like you believe the way you do.
The more I read here, the sicker I get. Seems quite a few believe that pain and suffering is Jesus' "marker". I always thought of good things, relieving suffering and such when I think of Jesus.
But everyone here seems to think of Jesus when you read of ill things.
My sister in law was diagnosed with advanced cancer and doesn't have long to live. Everyone around her is all 'oh boo hoo hoo' and crying crocodile tears. But I can't do that. I see that she is about to embark upon an eternally fascinating journey; that she's soon going to be praising rejoicing and partying before the throne of God; taking it all in and saying 'no sh-edit-t'. I'm sorry but I can't feel sad about that. What makes me sad is to see people who have been faithful and good and obedient all their lives all on the premise that God has something greater for us, yet when our time comes He has to drag us kicking and screaming the whole way. We will suffer for as long as humanly possible to avoid meeting Him. And to me that's just insanity. Or doubt. I have no doubt. I don't believe the way I do, I don't believe in God. I know.
I LONG for the day I get to be with my Lord, and every step the world makes towards that day warms my heart for Him. Yeah I hate that humans have to suffer because of their own blindness and stupidity and I do what I can to help them out with it. But come Lord Jesus, tarry no more, so that we may see your glory in all it's fullness. I for one anxiously await You.
So, are you suggesting as some have here, that your sister-in-law's illness makes you believe Jesus is closer?
No. It's to point out the difference between believing and knowing. And how many of us fear His coming for us because their faith is just guesswork they don't really find comfort in it. And how if you really knew you'd anticipate His return instead of hiding from it.
