And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea.
Matthew 14:25 (NASB)
Jesus's disciples were in a terrible situation. A raging storm was hurling them to and fro on their boat. Waves, wind, and rain were continuously pelting them, and they were becoming very afraid.
Jesus knew that His disciples were in trouble. So, as Matthew 14:25 states, "He came to them, walking on the sea." When they needed Him the most, He was there to help them.
What do we do when we find ourselves in a terrible situation that leaves us all frightened and scared? We could continue our seemingly endless panicking, or we could call out to God and wait for His Son Jesus Christ to come to our rescue. God never meant for His children to live in fear and anxiety. Instead, He gave His Son Jesus Christ to give us all hope of eternal life when we choose to place our trust and faith in Him. What a wonderful God we have!
