And John the baptist said; "Repent ye: for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand." (Mat 3:2)

As prophesied in the O.T. John the baptist was announcing the coming of the messiah, he was preparing the way for our Lord and was baptizing with water; Mark 1:4; John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

Many people have forgotten that Yeshua, our lord and saviour, son of GOD who came in the flesh, was sent to announce the good news or the gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven. Some might dispute this but it is written in Luke 4:43; And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

Yes Jesus did also wonderful things, and paid the price for our sins but it was not his only mission as he preached vehemently the Kingdom of Heaven!

there are many verses in which our Lord Yeshua mentions the kingdom of heaven or Kingdom of GOD, 32 verses in the book of Matthew alone. Here are just a few verses from the new testament;

Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mar 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Also the disciples of Yeshua were asked as well to preach the Kingdom of Heaven;
Mat 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Yeshua also spoke many parables about the Kingdom of Heaven such as;

Mat 13:31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
Mat 13:32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

Mat 13:33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

Mat 13:44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
Mat 13:45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
Mat 13:46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Yes indeed, Jesus and his disciples were preaching repentance and the coming Kingdom of Heaven! Are you ready?

Blessings

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

The kingdom of heaven is at our door wake up! get ready! it is happening soon.

Jesus said it was at hand 2000 years ago. I guess at our door is 2000 years closer than at hand.

The Kingdom of Heaven (or the Kingdom of God) has several aspects. Essentially the Kingdom of Heaven is the rule and reign of Christ and God over humanity, but all men will not be within the Kingdom of Heaven.

1. When Christ was on earth, the King was literally on earth, so in that sense the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand for those who believed on Him. Everything taught by Christ was related to the Kingdom of Heaven, and eventually Christ rode into Jerusalem on a donkey to confirm that the King of Israel had come to earth, and Israel was supposed to be an integral part of the Kingdom of Heaven. But Israel rejected its King.

2. Then Christ said that the Kingdom of God is within you, meaning that those who acknowledged Christ as Lord and Savior were already within that Kingdom. This would eventually result in the New Birth after the gift of the Holy Spirit was given to believers. No one can enter or see the Kingdom of God without being born again.

3. Then we have the parables of the Kingdom of Heaven, which showed the outward aspects of the Kingdom. This was a reference to future Christendom, which should have been a true reflection of the Kingdom, but instead consisted of wheat and tares, sheep and goats, good fish and bad fish. This is what exists at this time.

4. Then we have the future aspects of the Kingdom of Heaven, firstly during the Millennium, and then in the eternal or everlasting Kingdom of God on earth. This is when the true Kingdom of God will exist, with everlasting peace and righteousness on earth.

Yes when Jesus was with us in that time 2000 years ago, the Kingdom was on earth, small but growing ever since like a mustard seed as more and more people are aware of Jesus's teachings. however i feel that the Kingdom of God is neglected in many churches and rarely preached and if so then very vaguely.

Personally, I find it somewhat poor taste to tell people they do not understand the Scriptures you quoted simply because they did not reply to your Post. When a person post Scripture and just says how that it is Truth, and there is no doubt of that, what reply is necessary?

IF you are only Posting to gain "comments," then you are posting for YOUR benefit, and NOT to share the Gospel IMO...

I agree that there is often a duality to prophecy. But at hand and come to pass shortly should never be construed to mean a distant future. God gives very clear clues as to the timing of events if one compares scripture with scripture.

amen that’s the key Jesus didn’t just come for this reason like a scapegoat for our sins

“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

a that’s certainly true and relevant and important but he also came first to do this

“Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
‭‭John‬ ‭18:37‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we need to hear and believe his word as well as the truth that he died for our sins and rose up again in victory his word is the covenant his blood is the atonement price according to his words

Things that are different are not the same. The kingdom of heaven is not the same as the kingdom of God. Simply put, the word heaven is not synonymous with the word God. God is a spirit. Heaven is a created place. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Both will be realized at the second coming of Christ. Using them synonymously is not good bible study.

Both the kingdon of God and the kingdom of heaven were at hand. Through Jesus, the physical kingdom of Israel and the spiritual kingdom of all men was at hand. After the rejection of Jesus by Israel, the kingdom of heaven was postponed until the second coming of Christ. The spiritual kingdom would be made available to the gentiles.

What will the kingdom of heaven will be like. yes, there will be a place for you

The book of revelations gives us a glimpse of what the final kingdom of heaven will look like, it describes the kingdom of heaven where GOD will dwell. That would be after the millennial kingdom of Christ's second coming on earth. the description of the new Jerusalem is simply incredible the size of it will be absolutely HUGE! it is why Jesus said in John 14:2;
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to
prepare a place for you.

Th size if the new Jerusalem would be 1500 miles long x 1500 miles deep x 1500 miles high!!indeed a new earth will be needed!

Below is the physical description from the book of revelations chapter 21:9-27 and 22:1-7;

The New Jerusalem
Rev 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.
And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.
And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

The River of Life
And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
Jesus Is Coming
And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

Peace be upon you.

Dear John146, all the modern scholars agree that the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God are the same.

here is a text proving this;

"""The phrase "Kingdom of Heaven" is only found in the gospel of Matthew. The other gospel writers stuck with the phrase "Kingdom of God." You can even compare parallel verses like Matthew 4:17 with Mark 1:15 or Matthew 5:3 with Luke 6:20, where Matthew uses the phrase "Kingdom of Heaven" while Mark and Luke use "Kingdom of God" in quoting Jesus during their individual accounts of the same events.
Matthew uses the phrase "Kingdom of Heaven" 32 times but he also uses the phrase "Kingdom of God" in some places. Did Matthew have a reason for this swapping of phrases, or was he just less consistent than the other writers?
"""

This text in quotes is from; https://www.ucg.org/bible-study-too...-the-kingdom-of-heaven-and-the-kingdom-of-god

Dear John146, all the modern scholars agree that the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God are the same.
Of course they do, I've read many commentaries on the thoughts of men. They do not properly rightly divide. When you don't separate the two, you have to come up with either works theology or replacement theology. Or, like many do, spiritualize the passages instead of taking them at face value. For instance, Matthew 6 is a Jewish prayer to bring the kingdom to earth. Forgiveness is conditioned on forgiving others. After the cross, our forgiveness is solely based upon the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 6
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Ah the Kingdom!🥲🥹 My pastor used the Bible projects.com with their overlapping circles to teach it a couple years ago, Kingdom of God one circle, earth in the other circle. The small overlap is Jesus’ work with Christians as the Church being in the overlap currently. And one day soon the circles will converge even better than they were in the Garden pre-fall. 😍 better than a breath of spring mountain air just thinking of it.
