“The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;
…..And straightway coming up out of the water, the heavens opened, and saw he , the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: and there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
Mark 1:1, 10-11, 14-15
“The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”
Luke 16:16 KJV
“For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.”
Matthew 11:13
“It is written in the prophets, And they shall be ( prophetic word for the future ) all taught of God.
Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.”
John 6:45
“I came not to call the righteous,
but sinners to repentance.”
Luke 5:32
“And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land. And he taught them many things by parables, ( those parables that seem odd have so much depth and understanding for believers who hear him ) and said unto them in his doctrine, Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
………….And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
Mark 4:1-3, 9
“Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.( that’s every sinners need even today Jesus can change us )
And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, ( he didn’t come to call those who perceived themselves rightoues by Moses law but the sinners made guilty by it seeking redemption and they hated that ) saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.”
Luke 15:1-2 KJV
the point of this thought is this really is central to everything for us this here
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
John 5:24 KJV
if we read the actual parable I was quoting from earlier , we find Jesus a explaining that his word would go out into the world and people would hear it and some would accept it and believe and become fruitful later through perseverance. Not all the same amount of fruit but fruitful .
Others hear his word and choose the world instead others take offense at what he calls us to and from and let go some just hear it and believe for a moment or two then move on but others stumble and fall but they always persevere In Hearing and believing his word
Yes the cross is central also his bloodshed is required payment for mankind’s sin his resurrection required for mankind’s resurrection all true but his words and teachings are also eternal and will never change or lose thier power to save sinners and change us to his own image in our minds and hearts which is how we actually change our deeds for him .
We Christian’s are far from perfect but our role in this lifetime is to become a faithful disciple of our lord and teacher Jesus Christ we fall and stumble and sometimes lose faith for a moment but we are followers of the good shepherd we do need to hear his voice constant because there really are wolves and bear who feed on sheep unawares
learn what Jesus said for yourself about everlasting life of all the words about it in the world , his Will actually come to pass for all who bear and believe him the gospel is for us too ……
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;
but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
Mark 16:15-16 KJV
