Whoever Comes To Me Will Never Hunger,

So we compare that to eating food to sustain our
earthly bodies for survival. Jesus is opening the
door now for us to partake of Spiritual food, this
sustains our soul. We live, we learn and then we
surrender to Him. In order to grow in heavenly
things, we need to eat that spiritual food. That
means we devote ourselves to eat dinner so that
we can live and our human body survives. Now
Jesus says I will show you the way, come follow
me and I will give you eternal life. So it is that we
should at least set aside some time for God daily.
In this way we come to a higher place in our life
in the Spirit. To neglect it is like not eating, going
hungry and allow our Spirit to die. Christianity is
not just a word. We have our part to do in order to
follow Jesus and do as He has done.

Bread represents the "staff of life." Sustenance. That which essential to sustain life. Just as bread or sustenance is necessary to maintain physical life, Jesus is all the sustenance necessary for spiritual life. The source of physical life is blood -- "life is in the blood." As with the bread, just as blood is the empowering or source of life physically, Jesus is all the source of spiritual life necessary.
