Is Jesus a magic wand, or is he a savior from sins?
How do you view him?
I see so many treating him like a magic wand.
They see a reality they don't like.
They want escape from the reality.
So they grab a few Bible verses, quote them, then state the name of Jesus over said situation.
Once the process is done, the reality is supposed to just go away, and all is supposed to change into sunshine and rainbows.
Yup, one sweep of the wand...and....ta da! All is supposed to change, just like that!
Just........like.....that.....
Hmmmmm.......
Just like that?
Is Jesus just your escape mechanism so you don't have to go through the reality you're in?
Is the Bible just a book that contains a few phrases you can quote over things you don't like so they'll go away?
The Bible says...
Does this mean we shouldn't pray?
Of course not.
But let's get some perspective here folks.
In this life we will have trouble.
Even those of us who are Christians groan in pain.
We live in this fallen world.
Jesus isn't a magic wand that will be your escape hatch from reality and into a perfect reality filled with sunshine, rainbows and lollipops. At least not on this side of eternity.

The Bible says...
John 16: 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Romans 8
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that[h] the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.
22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
