In order to feel justified for what you do, you usually take a reliable thing to justify what you are doing.
This reliable thing in your beliefs eyes is jesus. Believing in jesus, teaching you all about the ways you can live, then having your sins forgiven if you believe in him, is supposed to be a justifying thing for you to believe in. To me, the simple notion is this, he was teaching people about how to live in a way pleasing to He who is said to have sent him. People flock to him, to hear his teachings, and apply them to their own lives, should gain favor for seeking out these ways, and if they are actually applying them, should gain favor in what they do. Getting this favor, means favoring them in judgement, therefore, if they are seeking and trying to do Jesus will, and they find themselves in an event where, either to despite their efforts, or to further what they know to be a higher will more important than their personal improvement, that they should be forgiven of what is technically an offense, but one done without the desire to do so, when a person that in every other instance than when they offend, they try to please, for when a person is trying to do the higher will, they should not be judged harshly, to the point where no one has the ability to be judged with favor, because of the occasional times they go against a declaration.
This justification you are taught this brings for seeking these ways and teachings, in thoughts of this, justifies what you do on a daily basis, because you are seeking and striving for the ways of these teachings, doing which shows you are giving effort to doing what is pleasing, and should not be condemned to the things you do out of habit or deception, or the world would be given cause to believe not to dare approach these ways and beliefs, because condemnation under them is proven unavoidable under the harshest judgements, and fear would keep all of you from drawing near.
