I know a story of a woman who was captured by a cruel man, and was raped and was beaten and left with no clothes and left to die.
She was left in shame. She was ashamed, though she was a victim to a violent act. She was neglected by the world, and left to die. No one knew her shame. No one knew the violation sent to her soul. He did to her whatever he pleased, and there was no remorse in his eyes. She could not trust another. NO! NEVER! NOT ANYMORE!! She lived in fear every day. She bathed in water, but it did not hide her shame.
But I know of a man who was treated the same. And for the shame of another he was also a victim to a violent act, neglected by the world, left to die.
And by his stripes, his blood offered the way to cover her shame.
Jerusalem. The Lord has desired to comfort you, but you have rejected him. Return to him and he will return to you.
He was your shame crucified. He was your covering. He was the one who would take away your shame. Though you were naked, he sought to cover your shame.
Your adversary has done to you whatsoever he pleased. He exposed your shame, and left you naked. Why will you turn away your redeemer and Lord?
Jesus will cover your shame.
