has anyone ever noticed in the bible that towards the end of the ministry of Jesus there were large crowds of Jewish believers every where He went. when the priest leadership plotted His death they had to do it in secret as they feared the crowds. when James (Jesus brother) was killed the town went crazy, they loved James. the first Christians were Jewish Christians, a Jewish sect. Jews were coming out everywhere to follow. yet by the time we get to Roman Christianity a few hundred years later there is a big divider between Christianity and Judaism and most the Church Fathers and Jewish leaders hate each other. so what happened?

Soon after the Romans went and started Killing the Jews and Destroyed the temple, am sure more Jews converted to Christianity after but at the same time Christianity has spread through the world to many other different groups of people.

Many of the Jewish people during the time of the Ministry of Jesus (Before His death) believed He was a Prophet or Elijah returned or a great moral man and teacher... Only a very select few looked upon Him as the Messiah and of those that did many of them had a distorted view of what the Messiah was and would do for Israel....

Yes many of the Jews after the Death and reasurection of Jesus did come to believe He was LORD and their Redeemer but as we know the Jewish religious authorities and people in their divided households braught persecution upon them and betrayed them to the authorities..

Many of the Jewish surviving believers did end up blending in with their gentile brothers and sisters..

I am no supporter of the catholic religion but by the time that Constantine came on the scene there was already division between those whobelieved Jesus and trusted in His Atonement and those who had been decieved by the introduced traditions of men and false doctrines.. There where Jews on all sides of this divide.. Jews who believed Jesus.. Jews who believed in a distorted false jesus (another jesus ) and Jews who rejected Jesus outright and remained Torah believers with the other books like the talmud and other traditions of men (sages) mixed in...
