Hi there, I just thought I would share some encouragement with people who are struggling with a particular sin, or are simply plodding on with the Christians walk.

Scripture tells us that although sin no longer has dominion over us (Romans 6:14), we still have our body of flesh and as much as we don't want to, we stumble (James 3:2). But, a great way to deal with our sin is to realise that our desire to sin is based on the lie that it is more satisfying than obeying God. Looking at the God's word below we can see that as Christians we delight in the law! I personally can testify of the joy that fills my heart when I overcome any temptation and do what is right. Even in the small things.

Romans 7:20-22 -- ''Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law''

As someone who has struggled with stages of depression, it is true that I am searching for joy in the wrong places! When we start listening to our Lord, and start looking at Jesus Christ as our joy in life, no matter what our circumstances we can wake up with a smile!

1 Corinthians 10:31 -- ''So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.''
