1 Timothy 3:5-7

King James Version (KJV)

5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

So what do yall make of this. Was the novice saved or not?
Yes. What is the condemnation? That men loved darkness (confusion) instead of light (order). Satan's house is one of division

Look at context. It is the requirements for office of church leader. A person who can not ocntrol his own house (even if saved) would easily be ensared by satan. And is not qualified to be a deacon.

Has nothing to do with salvation at all.

It takes time to know whether a new convert has true faith or counterfeit faith.

The church is counseled to give them time to prove themselves (see 5:22).

Amen. God does not make us superchristians the moment we are born again. A baby has to learn, grow in faith, and go through growing pains to get to that point.

Romans 3:25, "Whom Yahweh set forth as a sacrifice of atonement by His own blood, through the faith, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of Yahweh;

This is what the phrase sins that are past refers to in Romans 3:25:

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. Hebrews 9:15

If this were true the way you say, since none of us were ever a part of the covenant, until recently were not partakers in Yahweh, that would mean none of us would have our sins forgiven. Which is not true. Can yo explain how all that would work out to fit our sins being forgive too? Maybe I dont understand exactly what you are saying. My view of this verse is that Yahshua died for forgiveness of the transgressions of the Law. But maybe im missing something so im open to hear.

I bet if you preached just that and I preached just what I wrote your congregation would be 20 times the size of mine.

hahahahah rofl

i found this funny.......

Everyone will have a share of presenting what they did on earth before the Father, and there is no way we can lie to HIM. so yeah, Honesty before HIM while on earth is the right thing to do..!!..

Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Luk_10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

The disciples casted out demons in FAITH, but they had to DO what the LORD gave them commandments to do, BELIEVING that HE that sent them is true, and IN HIM is no lie.
and because they believed, their names where written in HEAVEN, but if they did not? and how would they have known that their names where written in the lamb book of life if they hadnt actually take the initiative to DO what the LORD commanded them?

Things to ponder

Great point, that brings this truth to mind:

Isayah 59:1-3, "Behold, Yahweh's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your own iniquities have separated you from your Father; and your own sins have caused Him to hide His face from you, so He will not listen. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; sin. Your lips have spoken lies, your tongue has muttered perverseness."

We cant walk in the ways of darkness and expect the gifts of light continously.

Acts 3:19, "Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out; that times of refreshing may come from the presence of Yahweh."

The part about showing his justice at the present time by the sacrifice of Christ refers to the NT, and those not under the Sinaitic Covenant.

No one alive today has committed sins under the old covenant. Sins committed under that covenant were forgiven at the cross as Hebrews 9:15 says.

We are under the new covenant with a new high priest making atonement for us continually. If we sin against GOD's laws through unbelief and hate, and then confess our sin and trust in his sacrifice, we are forgiven. Simple.
