Hello everyone!

Ok this's kind of embarassing, but I'm a single woman, who has never been married, and I've had relationships in the past. Which seemed to never last, they were always short termed. I got tired of feeling like just a plaything to men, so I made a promise to myself. That I was going to celabate, I'm not sure I spelled that right, anyways I promised myself I would be this until I found the right man that I knew would be my true mate in life. Anyways, as a single woman I can't help but wonder, if God put us here on earth, to multiply. Then how can we as singles find our mate if you can't look at another person, you're attracted to with some sort of feelings? Feelings like lust, I'm not trying to make that sound bad, it's just when people get married, they have to have some kind of that feeling. Otherwise how can they plan to spend the rest of theirs years in blissful happyness?

There is lust and then there is desire which comes from natural affection. They are different. One is a perversion of the other.

^ Absolutely true. When a single person meets another single person and they move progressively closer to marriage, it's natural that desire will develop. Also, OP, congratulations on your decision to commit to sexual purity!

Everyone who is not married is supposed to be committed to sexual purity,
whether they are old, young, or somewhere in between.
(It's a good thing... but it's actually for everybody.)

A lot of people that have had bad relationships, get very frustrated, and sometimes think,
"I'll probably never get married."
God makes everyone different... but he doesn't make you the way you are by accident.
If you have a strong desire to be married, it's probably because God wants you to be married,
and he has someone for you.

So why aren't you married yet?
If I was God I'd be happy to answer that.
: )

Each of us is different from an emotional perspective. And each of us struggles more with one thing than the other. Some people struggle more with anger, fear, lust, etc.

It's quite natural to feel an attraction, obviously. You can debate the semantics of desire versus lust all you want. But it really boils down to what the Spirit is revealing to you and how you act on your emotions. If what you feel or do convicts you in the spirit, pray for guidance. Only you and God know what your motives are. Just don't let your feeling and fear come between you and God.
