Hello,

I'm new here but have been saved since I was around seven or so. I'm 31 with a wife and 2 amazing kids. I haven't been to church in sometime due to tremendously stupid excuses. I got into the construction industry and had to live away from my family except for visits on the weekends sometimes. I got a new job a year or so ago where I don't have to travel now. But it finally hit me this week that this may not be the career path God wants me on. I'm a surrounded by hateful/angry/filthy minded people and this is what I have become. It's effecting me at home and I have become withdrawn with my family. I don't have a clue what I should be doing with my life or where to start. I've pushed myself away from God to the point where it has become a struggle for me to finish a prayer. I find myself beginning to pray and end up with my thoughts wandering and daydreaming instead. I would greatly appreciate it if some of you could lift me up with this. I know before any changes happen around me I need to get back on track spiritually, and that's what I want. My wife is very supportive but unsure of how to help. Most of the issue is my inner turmoil. Anyway, enough rambling from me. Thank you in advance.

Praying.

Be prepared! As soon as you start working your way back to God the devil will attack!
(Ok, that sounded a bit doomsday-ish, but really, he will. Thankfully though God has the power, faith and prayer are mighty weapons )

Lord thank you for restoring my brother to your joy and kingdom, let his light shine for you in this generation, sorround him with your presence and peace , in Jesus name amen

I will pray for you Nate. I think you need to surrender and giving all to God, choose with your heart and mind to forsake your own will and put Him first and making each prayer a conversation with Him. God bless you

Brother Nate! The scripture tell us to even be careful in what we hear!( mark 4;24) You know why now. I know of no sheep that does not gets its foot caught in the wire somewhere along the way.We all do bro! The sheep will cry out in both pain, and in hope someone will come and free our little lamb.Jesus hears both your great pain within you,and your cry for help!!( matt 18:11-14!!)

Judge for yourself now who indeed speaks unto you my brother in Christ! Most times when we gave our life to the Lord,we had really no idea what this meant! Some still do not.But Jesus is waking many up from there sleep.( rom 13:11-14)Notice something here brother? God's Word. Not mine. For my brother I used to have a very hard head as well!LOL I to, like you, got my foot caught in the wire!

From the top of the hill coming towards me in a dream was the Lord. he was smiling because he had found his lost lamb, same as he will do to you.Upon freeing me from the wire,Jesus sat with me in the dream, and asked me some questions I will ask you. How bad to you really want me? How close will you stay? And why will you never run off again?( hosea 4:6) My people, meaning God's own children such as ourselves are destroyed for there lack of knowledge, knowledge of God's Word.

Could any man just do the dangerous job you do without receiving knowledge from another?? They would soon fall of a building in no time. You know this. You worked very hard to gain the knowledge needed to obtain the right to be able to do the very tough job you have! SAME HERE!!Step 1 Find a good bible based Church, look for love in that church, and become a part, a working part to them.( matt 16:24-27) There really is much to speak on about this, but I will not do this, because it would take so very long!

The bible is our instruction book for our life,we do not measure our life any longer by what others, think,or do! We measure our life by our walk in Jesus, and we can measure this,by how close we stay both in his Word, and our fruit, or our result from His Word. A shoemakers fruit from his labor is the finished product, the shoe itself.

Our finished product from our Jesus, is really quite simple!( romans 13:8-10) To have love for another,we must first be taught how Jesus can and does always love us! We learn by him to look at others, not through our own eyes, but through his.step 2 the tongue!( matt 12:36)This one hit me hard to brother!! LOL I had served 2 tours in Vietnam, and having bad language was a given for me up until I learned how powerful words can be to not only yourself, but to others as well!( james 2-chapter 4) Please do look at this now under the new freedom Jesus has given you. It hit me like a ton of bricks to!

We think more and speak less. because our example Jesus Christ did the very same. Totruly understand how we can follow our Lord Jesus,we must take off our self righteousness, the enemy wants us always to feel bad,he look to keep us in the feeling realm! This my brother is his nature.( john 10:10) he is both a thief, robbing us at every opportunity( eph 4:27) and he cannot tell the truth!!( john 8:44)The point!! Get into and stay in the Word daily! pray daily, many people think in prayer they have to speak!! NO haven't we done enough speaking?? LOL Time to listen! To help measure ourselfs we must be willing to give our Lord TIME!!

The same time you needed to learn you job in the world,at least! Yes my brother I will not blow smoke up your backside,it is not easy! BUT!! being a doer of the Word and not a hearer only( james 1:22) is VERY !!!!Rewarding!! I do not judge you in any way! What time you do make for the Lord make it the best time you can spend! The key? do this daily! I wonder Lord?? Is it alright to miss a prayer now and then? No mark, Holy Spirit said, it should be a sin to you!!Is there any time I am not needed by you?? ( 1 sam 12:23) prayer is receiving instructions as well.

By doing this my brother you are off in the race,( 1 cor 9:23-27) that is not easy, but you also are never alone again in it! God's Righteouness!! Seeing oneself as he sees us! I show you my brother what Jesus showed me,the more excellent way!!( 1 Cor 12:31!!) LOVE! Sure we are going to make mistakes!!! SURE!! But in those mistakes are further lessons we also learn, because Our Jesus does not hate us,he loves us! The world as you know, it not so kind! That is why we are parting from it!

We are the sheep, not the goats! And what really my brother is the difference between the two? ( matt 25:31-46) Why just the finished product!! What they DID or Did not do! For it is not our work that produces this, our works are just, that ourself for self,by self because of self! These fruits come from the righteouness of our LIVING GOD! because only HE!! can produce a wonderful finished product!!! YOU!!!! IN HIM!! Blessing to you my brother!

Praying for all you ask and need in Jesus for you, your family and who knows? Maby in time to witness to all those at work. :)

Nate, my brother! I am praising the Lord for getting you to this point!
I love your heart...what you say about your family, the credit you give your wife for supporting you, the concern you voice for your wife and children, and for the environment you're in. I appreciate your "tremendously stupid excuses" confession. :)
I see the work of God in all these things. I hope you do, too!

Be encouraged, Nate! God has been speaking to you, and you have heard Him!
Don't expect this to stop. I admonish you to persevere, "so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised".

I'm so happy to pray for you, and welcome! to the site, and to our little part of the Family.
