I just feel like I have to tell someone what is going on. I have been in a relationship with a man for a year and a half now. I know God choose us to be together and he is the one I want to marry. If we are obedient God promises us to do impactful life changing things for others through us and ourselves.

When we are getting along well work well together however when we have a disagreement is can be intense, it can start from the smallest thing... Recently we got into a argument and he pulled the chain he gave me off my neck, threw a chair, yelling in my face and blocked me from leaving.

I'm not going to say that it came out of nowhere, I could have not got frustrated with him and used negative raised tone of voice with him, I'm sure that doesn't help.. I'm scared to were this might escalate to.

God says to forgive love unconditionally, we are seen as leaders in the church and I am nervous about telling our pastors or friends about it,

Any advice is appreciated, thank you very much, God Bless

You be very careful my lady. Don't let love blind you. Ask God not for your will but for his will to be done in your life and wait on him, He will come through everytime.

Forget about yours and your boyfriend's face, shamful to seek help. You and your boyfriend need to talk to someone help you both to remove the barrier that is hampering both of you to communicate effectively. I would suggest the best person to talk to is your church pastor. He/she is trained to do counselling and would not laugh or belittle you or your boyfriend or both. GOD BLESS.

Please tell someone! Please! If God wants you two together then He will provide a way, He will provide the healing and reconciliation needed...but don't let this go. These deep issues are going to need to be dealt with if want a future with your man.

I agree with OFM. You need to get out of that relationship, it's just going to get worse if you don't. God's will for your life is that you be with someone who treats you right. You need to seek help from somebody you trust and don't let your boyfriend know what you are up to or he'll just blow up. I would get far away from him. Then email your church and tell them what happened, so maybe they can counsel him. Don't stick with him thinking he's going to change. For him to change, he's going to need professional help and some work of God. Let him go, God will take care of you. If God wants to bring you two back together, it has to be His timing. And it will take a while for this man to change, that is if he's even willing to get the help. So it's best for you to put your trust in God at this time. God is your everything, He loves you. Praying for you. <3

run as far as you can away from that person..........if he could react like that for an issue then who knows what will happen when it escalates be careful and confide in someone in your church family.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you, you dont know how much your advice helps. I am going to get together with my pastor, thank you for the push.

I think there is someone better for you.
PPl should treat others with respect. Esp. the one's they claim to love.

he's trying to control you, next he will start to hit, it always happens that way, get away as far as you can, this is not love this is abuse

I tend to think that most people (not all) when they get involved with someone wants to be that special person that the other is looking for. And therefore wanting to be said person they put on a mask trying to be that special person, hiding the real person behind the mask. In due time the mask comes off and the real person is exposed. I believe that that mask starts falling off somewhere between 1-3 years but varies with each individual. But of course this is only my opinion.
So let me get scriptural on this.
1Pe 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Of course we don't know the whole picture or the whole story but only what you have given. But think about this sister, is it honoring your significant other by treating them the way you have described he is treating you? I pray that it will not become more violent then it has in your relationship.

May the Lord give you guidance and direction in this matter.

In Christ, 1Christianwarrior316

His temper is a major problem.
Don't be shy about sharing with your senior pastor and his wife.
There is no excuse for a man getting physically violent with a woman.
Don't think this problem will go away on it's own.

God may have said to love unconditionally, but it does not mean you have to put up with such an attitude your boyfriend isv giving you.. God made you special, and even though it may seem like he is the guy, you must put into consideration that 90% of the time, after being treated in a certain way by your spouse-to-be, after marriage, the same thing happens or it gets worse.. I personally recommend that you talk to him seriously and let him know that you love him, but you can't put up with the attitude he is giving you.Put it into prayer, and God one way or another will show you wether he is the one or not. I will be praying for you. Take care and keep strong.. If you ever need me in any way, I'm here for you.. add me if you will like or send me a private message.
God bless you

Hey I heard a personal life story at a retreat I went to with my college christian group. This lady came to Jesus, along with her boyfriend, at the age of 19. But they both still struggled with the relationship they had with each other. She had a rough past with guys as well..but one day while sitting in a car full of her christian friends they sang a song to her that spoke to her heart and she became undone. Then she called her boyfriend broke up with him and told him that she couldn't settle for anything less and he shouldn't settle for anything less and you know what? She met a better man, the one that Jesus wanted her to be with, and she became one awesome lady. So don't settle for anything less! He obviously needs to figure out his rage problem, its probably not of you but issues of his past. So let him go and let him figure it out. Marriage wont change him and you cannot change him. Its between him and God. Your meant to be with someone who loves you, not one that puts fear in your heart.

great very much alot highly ecellent counsel for her every one amen,amen-eth.

Hugs, I am glad you are speaking to your astor about this. :)
For nothing you do deserves this kind of anger or reaction, this is a true sign and warning of future violence.
Getting help is the action you both need to take, and you both are in my prayers in Jesus for all help and healing.

Huge hugs and God bless

Beloved of your Father...if you're still reading these, I wanted to share this...
when I met my husband, he had a terrible temper. That's a fact. He threw things, and stomped, and once he even ripped out a paper towel holder that was held in the wall with three molly bolts!
But he never, never, never touched me or anyone else in anger.
And he was not saved for the first 18 months I knew him.

When people who've met him during the past 30 years hear this, they stare in disbelief!
That's a fact, because he is so humble and meek and mild, you wouldn't know this was his past.
He had issues from childhood, and the Lord took all the anger out of the man.
It was gradual, and a work of God, but my husband was obedient to the Word (Jesus).
He was willing to submit to his Lord. He wanted it gone.

I'm saying "It can happen. I've seen it".
Yet, with all his anger, I wasn't ever afraid he would hurt me, or even come near me when he was angry.
So this concerns me, dear one.
Speaking to the pastor is wonderful!
But be sure to listen to God's voice, too.

I am asking the Lord for His will...His best for you.
And that you will have a heart full of His grace. ♥
God bless you,
ellie
