It was recommended that I place this in the testimony thread. For those of you who participated in the prayers that have helped bring this into fruition, I thank you with brotherly love. I hope that by opening this thread you won't be put off by re-reading that which you've already known. God bless all of you, in Jesus Christs name, Amen.

It was late in June when I first began praying to God to lead me into a good job. On July 2nd I found a position for a "plumbers apprentice" no experience necessary, just email resume and salary requirements. I sent my resume and I attached my pay rate request. I listed it kind of high, because I figured it was always better to work down.

Within a few hours I had received a phone call for an interview the following day, July 3rd
8:30 am. I went in and I met the boss. We went quickly over my resume and he asked what I wanted as far as pay again. Again I restated that which I'd sent and to my amazement he said that is "exactly" what he was offering. The only obstacle in my way was a background check, and that I knew was clear. I have worked security for so long that I've always had to maintain a clean criminal background, and the only moving violation I've ever had was speeding in Washington state, I worked that off with community service. He said that was fine, as long as I wasn't a murderer and I had a drivers license, because I would be given a company truck to drive too and from work. He would run my background and I was to return on July 5th at 7:30am to begin work.

I was very excited but something still seemed unstable, it all seemed too easy, almost too good to be true. I couldn't shake the feeling that I needed prayer. I got home and I came here to CC, I posted the "if your not to busy" thread in the "prayer request forum."

On July 5th I was dropped off at 7:15am, I was there early enough to make coffee for the staff and take out some garbage as I waited for the boss. They were busy that morning so I sat there for over an hour while one of his staff members prepared my paperwork. Then he called me into his office and asked me to shut the door behind me, his demeanor had changed, he wasn't angry or anything, but you could tell he was put off by something. I sat down and he handed me a paper, he said "did you know that your license has been suspended?" I said "what? nooo." I looked at him with confusion all over my face. The paper had 3 different citations each of them from over a year ago, same county we were in.

He said "I'm sorry, but you have to have a drivers license, can you take care of these tickets now?" it all added up to nearly $1,000 and I had only $2 to catch a bus home. I told him I would take care of it as soon as possible. He said he would have to put the ad back on craigslist because he was just too short handed, but whenever I get it straightened out I could call him again and maybe he would have a position opened. We shook hands and I went on my way. As I left the office I felt sick to my stomach. That job had been absolutely perfect, it had a future, it came with a ride, the pay was more than I'd expected, it was something I've done and I liked, the people were awesome. I just couldn't understand why God would have brought me here and then have it all fall apart like that. I had been so sure it had been from God.

I had about a quarter of a mile walk to the bus stop so I called the courthouse while I walked.

The lady at the courthouse said "oh, those aren't just 3 citations, they are 3 warrants for your arrest." I was stunned. "what?!" almost 2 years ago I had borrowed a friends vehicle to take me and another friend to a possible job for him, he was going to be arrested if he didn't have a job by his next court date. On the way back from that interview I had been pulled over for bad tags. The inspection sticker and the registration sticker were out. Those were the 2 citations and because I wasn't working and had no money I didn't call them back immediately and then I soon forgot, so a failure to appear was the 3rd. I had completely forgotten all about it. They eventually became warrants and here we are.

The lady said they could not be paid in payments, I could not do community service and because the jails are full I couldn't even sit out my time. She put me on the phone with a deputy and he reaffirmed what she said. He said "If I were there I'd arrest you, but you'd be let out tomorrow and we would not arrest you again until more late fees were added to each of your warrants." so even if I was arrested and they took $100 off for served time it wouldn't help because they would just pile on more fees. So now I had a real dilemma. I had 3 warrants, no license, and a bill that was going to keep growing until it was fully paid off. I couldn't get a job with 3 warrants and no license. It seemed there were just no options I couldn't believe it. I was absolutely sick.

I caught the bus #30 and it took me to a major bus station where 12 or more buses all meet up, like a bus park. I got off the #30and I walked to the bus stop beside it-the #228 which would take me home. I stood at the bus stop for the better part of an hour, calling my family and friends and venting. Finally I got off of the phone, completely lost inside, and I put my head against the back of wall that served as shade for the bus stop and I prayed silently to God. I told Him, "thank you for loving me, thank you for being within me, I love you so much, please grant me peace inside of me Lord." after that prayer I immediately felt better inside, then a thought hit me, there was 1 chance, it was the job I just left, he already knew I had the citations (he didn't know they were warrants but he knew I didn't have a license), I had already passed the interview and he had been willing to give me the job, maybe I should go back and tell him I had no other options, he was my only hope. I looked up and there next to me was that same bus #30 that had dropped me off nearly an hour ago. I walked right over, swiped my transfer card and sat down.

At that point my phone rang and my sister told me, " you know I was thinking, you should go back and talk to him." lol I told her, "Brandy, I'm already on the bus, thanks for reaffirming what I've already been told, it makes me feel better about it." I took the bus back to the job, I walked in the office sat down with him and I told him exactly that. I had no choices, the courts wouldn't work with me and they were warrants. He said, if I were to hire you what would you do to get back your license, I said "I'll take every check I get and send it straight to the courts til its done." he said "you're hired, get to work." I walked out of that office and went straight to work. He has had employees pick me up and drop me off at home every day, can you believe it?! :) PRAISE GOD INDEED!!! I spoke on the phone to the Deputy and he said "congratulations on the job, I know its weird getting paid for those first few weeks, so I'll give you til the 27th to pay off at least one of the warrants. Good luck." WOOOOOHOOOOOO!! PRAISE GOD!!!

What a wonderful story! Thanks for sharing it. There are some really nice people out there who are willing to help...especially when a person is honest with them :)

Praying that everything works out for you and that the Holy Spirit will continue leading you to a good place
