Lawyer sues Israel on behalf of Jesus - Israel Today | Israel News

Israel is being named as one of the defendants in a new lawsuit over the wrongful execution of Jesus filed at the International Court of Justice in The Hague (ICJ).

Prominent Kenyan lawyer Dola Indidis argues that the evidence provided by the Bible demonstrates that Jesus was subjected to "selective and malicious prosecution" that "violated his human rights through judicial misconduct."


The lawsuit targets Roman Emperor Tiberius, Pontius Pilate, King Herod, numerous first century Jewish elders, the Republic of Italy and the State of Israel.


While most of the defendants are long since deceased, Indidis insists that, having adopted many of the laws of ancient Rome, Italy and Israel can and should still be held accountable for this miscarriage of justice.


"I filed the case because it's my duty to uphold the dignity of Jesus and I have gone to the ICJ to seek justice for the man from Nazareth,” Indidis told Kenyan media. "I am suing as a friend."


An ICJ official who spoke to the website Legal Cheek noted that the court has absolutely no jurisdiction to make a ruling on the matter. "It is not even theoretically possible for us to consider this case."

The irony is he could be descended from one of the tribes that participated in lovely things like ethnic cleansing or slave trading.

This may be an extreme example, but reparations for historical evils rarely patch up the wounds. Instead they just rip open the bandages and start new ones afresh in generations not responsible for their specific crimes.

And, as I noted in my first paragraph, it just gets ridiculous. I could file for reparations against myself being British, Irish, German and French.

Allow me to explain.

The English mistreated the Irish on occasion. The English owe me.

Ahh, but the English were also mistreated by the Irish. Some would say in retaliation. Others would say in retaliation against retaliation. Either way, the present Irish government owes me as well.

The French were pretty brutal to Welsh archers they captured during the 100 years war. I'm descended from one of those archers. Well I guess I can sue the French.

But hey as the French I can sue the British again! Those Welsh archers broke into cities like Caen, stomped on my chickens, deflowered my maidens, and burned my crops, after all.


Those Welsh archers happened to also invade Ireland and dwell among the Irish (ostensibly becoming Irish in later centuries)(hence the Irish heritage) the Brits get it again!

Ah but the Irish got it again to for the pipe bombs in Britain.

Now let's go back to The Continent.

For those keeping score, I'm also part German. I guess I can then have some grievances against the British and definitely the French for trying to bring areas like Hanover and Alsace-Lorraine in their orbit.

Yeah, but the Germans had a habit of smacking Paris and London (deservedly and undeservedly).

Oh, I'm also part Slavic (miniscule amount). I guess I can sue the German government for what they did too.



Reparations...make...no...objective sense.

Make love not war (that's how you get babies of warring peoples like myself. yeehaw! 'Merica!)

This is quite true. Some people don't harbor grievances, they just want to introduce the world to another punch-line.

I hope that he is a satirist extraordinaire who uses a faux legal system as a canvas.

Something tells me my hope won't get me far here.

Think of how interesting this could be!

In order for the defense to win their case, they would HAVE to prove he rose again. Could this be a way to win people for Christ? For some people who want imperial evidence, this could be the way to evangelize to them.

while this lawyer's heart is in the right place, this lawsuit is unnecessary. Jesus doesn't need anyone avenging Him.

prosecuting a modern ethnic group for crimes committed by their ancestors sounds racist to me...these kinds of 'racial guilt' claims are the basis of a lot of racist sentiments in the world...
