Yeah, I think you'll like Kindle! You do need an Amazon account, but until there is something you want to buy, you don't need to put in any payment info.

There is a TON of FREE Kindle-format Christian books there of all kinds: bibles, bible studies, devotionals, commentaries, novels and so much more!

Here are some of the free Christian literature they have on offer:

Free Charles Spurgeon Kindle Books

Free Bibles Kindle Format

Free Bible Studies

Free Bible Devotionals

Free Bible Commentaries

Free Christian Novels

They have other great Christian authors besides Charles Spurgeon. If you want to see if your favorite author has provided free books, here is what you enter in search: Free Kindle <author's name>

Kindle has many other free Kindle books. I have so many free cookbooks that I don't ever have to buy them! There's also free programming language books, free textbooks, just so much stuff.

Hope you find free Kindle books that you'll enjoy. Have fun!
Neato. I have a Kindle, there are over 70,000 free titles on mine. Have you ever been around economic theorists who questioned why things were free or investigated how the free things were paid for? Understanding as we all do that everything costs something, somewhere along the supply chain?

I like my kindle app too, but I can do without elementary school level public speakers on religion who spend too much time focusing on vocabulary lists and showing off their small foreign language word lists. It interferes with the narrative and unbalances the flow of the logic.

The Bible and life are full of stories. If one is to effectively convey a message that sticks, it needs to be of a more personal nature, one that speaks of what God has done in someone’s life.

I've had a Kindle since they first came out. The one with little push buttons if you wanted to make notes. Analog?
I've always found Kindle great for fiction. But horrid for scholarly books, where I want to underline, put in different colour tabs, notes at the back. If I bought a book on Kindle to get reading for a class, I would end up buying the paper book, and restarting reading from page 1. Just my style of reading text books, going back 50 years.

But now that I am going blind, Kindle is going to be an asset for a few years. I've already had to make the font larger twice. I pulled out a book from my paper collection of thousands of books & I couldn't read it. There wasn't enough contrast between the yellowed paper & the faded black letters. I've changed paper Bible to a larger font, not sure what will happen with reading Koine, German, French, Hebrew. And a lot of theological books aren't always formatted for Kindle, either.

The best thing is because my Kindle is not back lit, it's much easier on my eyes. So less damage! And so much lighter to take 100s of boxes on a vacation on my Kindle, than paper copies, especially hardback books!
