If you do not care about what originals say or what Greek manuscript say regarding the KJV readings, why do you care what the KJV says regarding the NIV readings?
As the KJV was a "new inspiration" for you, NIV can be "a new inspiration" too, 400 years later.
Why the double standard?
Because as far as I can tell God hasn't updated since the KJV.
What I did in Luk 1:1-3 was to parse the Greek. That is not even a translation. My parsing of the Greek was lexically accurate. I was attempting to show that what the 'translators of the KJV did with those 3 verses was worse than poor translation; it was NOT translation. For several words, they completely departed from the Greek text, not even using the same part of speech. The versions you cited agreed with my parsing except for 1 controversial word. That is not bad for someone with 1 full semester and 1 Summer term of Greek learned more than 40 years ago..
3 It seemed good to me also, having accurately followed after all things from above, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,
Sorry trof I can't search for those verses because they're not KJV, can you give verses if you don't mind. Please, read it again, namely:
"before the morning"
"before time began"
"before he made the earth"
Its not about physical born of Christ.
Sure he will, just start out by believing every single word is right until you run across a contradiction, when you find a legitimate contradiction then your done. But, you do feel that He will definitely let us know when He does, right?
Just the same as He did with the KJV translation, right? When did He tell us that, again? I forget....
OH! I thought we were supposed to reply and say "No comment", to build up our post count....
People on this forum will disagree with an empty post lol.I try not to respond to anything unless I think I have something to say. Even then people sometimes disagree with whether or not I do in fact.
There is no accounting for the blindness of some but to say that God has not opened their eyes. Yes, that applies to you, sad but true. Christ laid down His life for you while you were yet a sinner. Greater love hath no man than that someone lay down their life for you. God desires that ALL come to a knowledge of the truth and repent. Why? Because He loves us. That you do not see God's love when you read Scripture, truly is sad. His unconditional love does not mean you can enter His home and do whatever you want. That is why repentance is necessary to attain to life ever after with Him. It's like telling your dog, sorry, I do love you, but you cannot stay in the house with me until you learn to poop outside. The love is unconditional, but living in the house is not.You provided no scripture that presents the love of God as unconditional.
Nor did you present scripture describing God’s love for them that refuse his salvation by Jesus Christ.
Funny I'm having internet issues myself, and have been all day.I am at work nowI am allowed to be online when we are not busy

That was an awesome reply! You took the words right out of my mouth. There is no accounting for the blindness of some but to say that God has not opened their eyes. Because the NIV contradicts the character of God and contradictts it's own self... God is not the author of confusion and disorder.
If Yet was here, he would be giving me a hard time for saying "poop."That was an awesome reply! You took the words right out of my mouth.![]()
I do have a standard, Jesus Christ is the standard and we all know his character - shear perfection, loving, forgiving, funny at times and he always speaks in parables. If the KJV could change what originals says, you do not have any standard about what the character of God is. It cannot be the KJV, because the new translation can be as "independent" on the KJV readings as the KJV is on originals.
If Yet was here, he would be giving me a hard time for saying "poop."
Oops, I did it again
I'm sorry but it doesn't. I've read it cover to cover under the influence of the unmistakable peace that only The Holy Spirit can bestow. I know you are bearing false witness. Frankly it's quite offensive to my spirit to hear false accusations like this.Because the NIV contradicts the character of God and contradictts it's own self... Edit: I forgot to add hilariously sarcastic.... beautiful sense of humor.
This is a serious question and I'm not "downing" you at all, you know I love you and see you as a brother in Christ. But don't you recognize Jesus when you see him, take for example when you see Christ reflected in other people. The same reflection exists in the written word, it's recognizable and it actually stands out.And how do you know how exactly he spoke and in what?
From the KJV.
So again, what is your standard about what is his character when the KJV can be updated any time as the originals were updated by the KJV?
