I use to think that the KJV was a foreign language until I was told to pray before I even opened up the Bible. I was told to pray and ask for the Holy Spirit to join me while I read the word of God and bring me knowledge and understanding. After that the KJV sang to me and hasn't stopped. Praise Jesus

Good for you! As for me, I'll still with more modern translations (the NRSV and NLT) and that's okay. Praise God!

Good post. We get so much more out of scripture when we let God read it to us.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

No matter what version of the Bible we read, if we don't pray and allow the Holy Spirit to quicken it, we might as well be reading someone else's mail, huh? :) I'm so glad you are learning and growing. May we all.

The KJV rocks!!!! Its sort of like the DOS of bible versions. I wish everyone still spoke like that.
