This is not optional. AI, Robots, Self driving Cars, 3d printers, these things are here, you have no choice either you adopt them or your economy collapses. If you adopt them then you don't need 80% of your people and in ten years you won't need 80% of those that are left. So you definitely don't need any kids or retired people. If you don't need kids you don't need families.
