Yes. I think Star Wars and Star Trek had the same creator—Gene Roddenberry. Star Trek ran on TV for three seasons 1966-1969, was canceled, and quickly became a cult favorite. Years later, spinoffs began coming out: Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager (I think), and another with Scott Bakula (of the TV series “Quantum Leap” fame) as captain. There were also several Star Trek movies.

A lot cheesier? Sad, but true. Our equipment is cheap and run down, but what can you do when the governments of all the participating planets give you so very little money? Earth is the worst. Do you know what earth gave the United Federation of Planets last year? A miserly $500,000. Can you believe that? Starfleet officers have to buy their own uniforms! And don’t get me started talking about wages. I would make more money shining shoes at O’Hare airport.

Welcome to the Starship Enterprise. I am Captain Kirk. These are my science officer, Mr. Spock, my chief medical officer, Dr. McCoy, and my chief engineer, Mr. Scott. We have some questions to ask you, such as, what are you doing in the middle of outer space, sitting on the back of my starship? By the way, where did you get that space suit? It looks very comfortable. Our space suits are bulky and hard to move around in.
 
It's actually a pretty funny story. You see, I was at work minding myown business, when some guys in black suits came and took me to this room. I musabeen chloroformed or something, cus the next thing I remember is being in this space suit and being very dizzy.
