Can a person living in the Church Age (today)...
1.) know the Father but not know the Son?
2.) know the Father but not be saved?
3.) know the Father yet not be a Christian?

The above questions are not meant to be "trick questions, but if you think they are, then please elaborate and tell why.

no to all 3 questions, no tricks about it, it's simply no, oh and hi sir :) gtsy

John 5:23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

There is a difference between the law of Moses, spoken of in the OT before Christ came to us, and the law of Christ. Matthew explains it to us in his chapter 5 when he tells us "you have been told" and he repeats a law of Moses, then Christ says "but I tell you". That chapter explains how that works in five examples of the difference.

However, the law itself is not changed, and God the Father speaks the very same as God the Son. We are told this is so in Matt. 5:17: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them".

Moses gave the law in fleshly symbols of the spirit of the law, Christ gave us the spirit of the law. God is spirit.

We are to listen as the Father speaks to us in the OT, and we are to listen as Christ speaks in the NT. They speak the same message.

“know the Father but not know the Son?”

“All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:27‬ ‭

“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.”
‭‭2 John‬ ‭1:9‬ ‭

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:6, 9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭1:
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.”
‭‭John‬ ‭17:3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:11-12, 20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

without the gospel that reveals jesus , we could never see what God the father is like and could never receive his spirit

a they are one message about one God the father and son can’t be seperated of you know the son you’ve met and know the father

a Jesus is the central figure of the Bible he is where the father , indwells the son with his life giving spirit and faith in him is how the children of God are born and receive the spirit I’d say no father and son aren’t seperable

just my opinion thought god bless brother

Hey Brother, good to see you.

My first thought was to say "no" to all three, but, then I remembered when the demons said they "knew" who Jesus was, but did not know the person speaking, trying to cast them our. All of the demonic world KNOWS who God/Jesus is, they simply choose to serve their master, the deceiver who was a liar from the beginning.

God bless

If people just think on Terms of God, not the specifics, they, SINNERS/LOST, will know who God is:

19 because what can be known about God is plain to them—for God has shown it to them.
20 His invisible attributes—His eternal power and His divine nature—have been clearly seen ever since the creation of the world, being understood through the things that have been made. So people are without excuse
21 for even though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God

To Summerize these 3 Scriptures:
what can be known about God is plain to them—for God has shown it to them, So people are without excuse, even though they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God

Well someone getting saved could learn about Jesus giving eternal life to a sinner who believes in Him and not get taught about the Father.

But this isn't not knowing the Father...because Jesus is one being with the Father. You know Jesus... You know the Father.

They are not separate. Distinct.. not separate. Why? Because this is monotheism.

Jesus will show the Father thru Him.

The Jewish concept of agency has the agent on behalf of another being 'as the person themselves'. So when Jesus does things 'by the hand of the the Father'. ... He is carrying equal status to the Father.

So someone could not know the Father exactly, but it would be revealed to them by Jesus.

If they were taught about the Father and then believed in Jesus but not the Father.. then that would be a problem.

Oops I answered in reverse. 😀

Knowing the Father.. He would reveal the Son. But you do need to know the Son for conversion otherwise it's like Judaism.

Although both with Judaism and Islam.. what they are calling the Father is not the same thing.

If it's not one Triune God.. one being this way.. then there is no salvation thru Jesus

I was thinking that it might boil down to a discussion of the Orthodox Jews. Do we agree that they had/have the same opportunity to Come to Jesus as everyone else (including their own brethren in the Early Church)?

Matthew 17:5
“While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.”

John 14:6
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

John 8:
37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

No, if we know the Father, we also know Jesus and the Holy Spirit because the three are one God. In the Bible, knowing someone means to love them intimately and personally. Therefore, Christians know the 3-in-1 God personally. See growingtoknowGod.org.

Oyster, even if we disagree on some doctrinal points, it is impossible to think that you would be up to asking trick questions. If you ask here I know your integrity is true.
