This wouldn't make me call you. Rather, it would make me take you off my friends list (or at least ignore you). It makes you seem pushy...as though you EXPECT me to call you. Total turn-off for me. I will admit that if I REALLY liked you, I might send you a message back letting you know how miffed I was at your excessive chutzpah, hoping that you simply hadn't had any sisters or contact with females recently and had no idea that you came across as rude. This would also let me see if you had a bad temper or notOk, I've been silent on this too long now. Here's what you do.. You got her facebook so send her a message saying, "Hey (name), here's my cell. I don't use FB much at all so just text me instead. My phone's always on. Later."
Well, that's still kinda pushy for me, and makes you seem weird at the same time......I wouldn't ignore him if he said that, but I'd want him to say just casual stuff; we have plenty of time to get to know each other. Actually, rather than "casual" stuff, why not ask me questions? Not only would that make me think that he wants to get to know me personally instead of just wanting a random girl, but if I like him, I'll probably ask him questions back. If I ignore you, you have your answer right there. If I keep talking on FB, you could ask me if I wanted to talk before or after church...if I said that I would, you could give me your cell number then and say that "It'd be easiest to find each other this way; or would you prefer that I called you, or we could just meet in the fellowship hall right after the service?" I always feel the most trusting toward the guys who aren't pushy at all....you could work up to eventually asking me out for coffee. Okay, replace "me" with "her", of courseThats all there is to it. You don't have to sit around and be frustrated and worried about creeping her out. Just be straightforward. The worst thing is if you think up some calculated message thats supposed to not creep her out too much like.. "Hi (name), I don't want to be too forward, but I was wondering if maybe it would it be ok if we text each other. Here is my number if you want to text me. Thanks."
If I don't already like you, you should do something nice to me/try to be my friend. I'm not going to start liking you if you try to force me to pay attention to you. I only want to get to know guys who are friendly toward me first.....if they feel that it's too much time investment, the relationship wouldn't work anyway.Something like that would make her think you are a creeper, or at the very least, a pushover. The only way that would work is if she already likes you. If she does then it doesn't matter what you say.
I guess this kind of branches out from a different issue. It seems that phone numbers are so personal which makes it awkward to ask just when you first meet someone. Perhaps this is because our society has become increasingly reliant on cellular phones. It seems like everyone has facebook so it's easier to ask for that, but then what? So, questions #2: Which is better to ask for? Facebook or phone number? Why? How would you do it under time constraints without things getting awkward?
I realize it's all up to God and if things work out it's because He allows them to. I also realize there is no perfect equation to getting a womans phone number, but seriously, there has to be ways to make it less precarious!
P.S.- This is for both guys and girls to answer... bummer the thread should be renamed.
If it seems she likes you, you like her.. what the problem is...do the number!![]()
Apparently i wasnt typing in english
Let me see if my communications converter is working...
My translation from what you said: "If I like her, that means she likes me. What's the problem? Just ask for her number!"
How'd I do??![]()
Mine's saying, If it seems that she likes, and you like her, then ask for her number.

Sorry, I tend to get personally wrapped up in these things; I know how I like to be treated. I will say that the winky smiley is fine, though....for me, that's enough of an "I'm interested" signal; I get the idea that you like me at least somewhat

Yeah, maybe if I still feel compelled to do so in a month I'll ask. I don't want to sound pushy though. After all, the ball is in her court, so to speak. I'm not too bothered about it though, I have other priorities.![]()

No no, why would you wait a month? She might not even remember you after a month. Do it now.

DO IIIITTTT! XD
Yes, thats what i was thinking. I mean whats even the point of liking someone if your not gonna do anything about it
Hey, I told you guys, she doesn't live around here so she went back home to be with her family. They live in VA! I'm not asking for her phone number over facebook! She already has mine, so if she was interested she would have texted me by now.
I'm not interested in women who are easily enamored by a guys confidence. The woman I'm looking for is going to need more complex stipulations than that!![]()
