That moment when someone else posts their cover of a song you wanted to do in your guitar group. Now you can't do it because it will seem like you're copying them or trying to make them sound bad. 
Once I sang "Nothing's gonna change my love for you" at a karaoke and that's when I realized that I have a talent for singing in the opposite direction of where the music is flowing.
I tried to sing 'Ken Lee' on Karaoke. Not sure if I got it right nobody liked that one. But when I did a duet 'Dreaming Of You' I kept getting likes for that song. The one who I sang with must have her own fan club or something. ??
I usually only get 1 like from the person I joined, a lot of times I get 0 likes. It doesn't matter how well you sang. Some people are just really popular.
Selena has a massive fan base. Even though she died years ago. Actually murdered. By the president of her fan club.
But funny, I also duetted Como de Flor and that didn't get as many likes. I had like 73 for Dreaming of You last count. They kept coming up on my phone every 10 minutes or so and I'm like ??? No comments, just likes. Unless its a bot? But they were all different peeps.
The likes are just from other members, not fans of Selena. It doesn't matter who the original singer is. The likes are for you or the other singer. Some members just have a lot of followers who like all their videos. I somehow got over 100 likes for that From A Distance invite I did and I have no idea why. No one else joined me.
Well I don't think they were for me personally as I only been on it for a week and a bit! I only actually know one other person who joined, the rest are people I don't know and have never met before.
Also am not VIP anymore so I can't do solo songs, or invite people anymore, I have to join others. I don't mind though. I like the novelty of finding songs I like and singing with others.
I wonder how long it will take for the novelty to wear off, I mean do you sing everyday? Joining up seems expensive at $19 a week!

I don't do videos. I only do the audios. I don't think anyone really benefits of watching me sing with an earbud when they could learn the song by seeing the lyrics.
But a lot of songs just have the spinning globe if they duet and it's interesting to find out where on the planet they are based. So far most have been from LA/West Coast of US (no surprise) but had a few from Japan and some from the UK. I think I only had one near me and it was in Australia. Lots of Filipino on there though, they must all love this App. I don't know any Filipino songs though.

It doesn't matter who you are, or if you have VIP, they can just like your singing. All the songs/recordings are technically videos even if they don't show anyone, just words or a thumbnail or globe but you can just call them songs too. I usually only sing once or twice a month. I used to sing everyday when I first started back in 2014.
Yes a lot of filipinos on there. I was shocked. I'm filipino too but lived in the US all my life. I don't know any filipino songs either.
I didn't sing it that well. It was probably the other singer, it seems she gets a lot of likes for everything she sings when I looked at her profile. I mean she was good, but I don't think she was ah-mazing.
I have heard some amazing voices though on the app, some who I think are trained singers or even famous stars. There was a pitch perfect lady I heard sing Aladdin's A Whole New World so I tried to sing the guys part lol
I should have told you that a lot of people belong to groups on there and a lot of groups require that you like other member's songs/duets. Yes I've seen some really good singers on there. It could just be that she has a lot of fans. I used to wish I could get a lot of likes but then I found out about those groups and figured a lot of likes are probably just because of someone's group rules. I've seen singers who were really good and had no likes and almost no followers even though they were there a long time. It's mostly about popularity and groups.

I'd rather people leave comments than likes as it helps to know someone has actually really listened to your song and appreciates it. It might not be the greatest you ever heard but they took the time to sing it and share, so I think that counts for something, and if you enjoyed it, why not tell them?

I joined a couple years ago but I left soon after because it just wasn't for me. I didn't like getting fake likes. But a lot of people like it for the camraderie and the attention. Yea you can kind of tell if it's group likes if there's no comments lol. You should try joining one or two. Its free and you can just leave when you want to. I'm not sure if you need VIP but I don't think you do. They're all created by members like facebook groups.
