I haven't been feeling well at times, and had a mild cold Sunday morning. My requests to have church services a couple hours later so I can sleep in Sunday morning have not been well received as of yet.
My home church, a strict church, seemed to respond by moving church services an hour earlier to 9:00 AM, and reminded me I was still excommunicated until I went to confession for my "Protestant ideas." . So, not realizing the spring time change, I visited a local church and was greeted by a nice lady who said church services were over, and Daylight Savings Time, had happened, and suggested I return next Sunday an hour earlier.

So I went to another Church thinking, "maybe they have a hug-and-a-mug for Sunday. I walked in and the church was empty, but I heard the coffee hour fellowship downstairs, but hadn't attended church, so just wanted to say a prayer and leave.

As I prayed in the empty church, a little girl walked up and stood in the doorway. I said with a friendly greeting surprised to see her, "HI !!"

She didn't say a word, just looked around and shrugged her shoulders, and walked away.

So I thought it was time to exit, and come back another Sunday!

Jesus said, "And the child shall lead."

"Welcome the stranger," the Bible says. And it's a good idea to go to church a couple hours early, since many churches have fellowship and Bible study before church.

Well it's quite late here in the U.S but a lot of your post was hard to follow. You want an entire local body to change their service times because you aren't feeling well enough or would prefer sleeping in on sunday?

If there is veiled sarcasm here used by some preachers as a device then I don't perceive it.

A device like this "can" be used, but I feel it's application is rather narrow and timing based. Certainly I do believe the Lord operates this way in rare instances.

Otherwise, I am confused. There are plenty of local bodies that have varying times. I live in a large metropolitan area and I can find a service from 7am to 7pm. Some of these assemblies may have little to offer except knowing where the Lord is not moving for you personally and your needs remain unfulfilled for fellowship, so even that's a blessing if and when someone needs fellowship and you are in a position to offer counsel in the matter.

That said. I will offer that I show up sporadically time wise. Early morning is usually a no and probably accounts for less than 1% of any services I have attended. When I was forced (with fines) at University to attend chapel at 8am (or 9am I don't recall for sure) when I didn't have class until 11 or 12 (my choice) one semester I just accepted the fines and went to the handful of night meetings that were packed for that reason and one semester there was an error where we got like 30 free chapel credits so I only had to go 10 or 15 times in one semester.

Early mornings are challenging for me to accept when we could just as easily meet a noon. Why are almost all church services between 9-11 one day a week? Sure there may be a laziness element on my part, but what a challenge lol. Even when I've had an early work schedule I don't really wake up til about noon anyway (even when I've been up at 7am for weeks).

I think most churches are the same. Now we have be in services.
