I think it's something we take for granted, we make plans on plans on plans as if we can carry them out on our own, as if we can control tomorrow. Jesus said of the very birds of the air, none falls away apart from God's will (Matthew 10:39). He also gave the parable of the rich fool, who made a boast about how he wouldn't want for anything in his life ever not knowing that night he was going to die (Luke 12:16). The Bible calls that boasting in arrogance (James 4:16)
James 4:15
Instead you ought to say, 'if the Lord will we shall live and do this or that."
Saying "God willing" is not only acknowledging God in all your plans, it's also realising none of those plans are possible without Him. It's also something we really need to normalize

Thats why most people dont take any notice of weather predictions. Or 5 year plans. Or 3 year plans. Or even, election promises.

so when someone stupidly asks 'where do you see yourself in 5 years' you can say 'who knows? ...God knows!'

I take notice of weather predictions. I've found them over the last 5 years or so that they have been very accurate, even to a group of hours. For example, if they say mostly sunny warm day with a cool change in the late evening, it usually happens that way. Sometimes they can be slightly off but it's mostly reliable I've found.
Probably due to increased computing power to process data?
