Learning to live without money

Dandelion greens are good eating.

They are a little bitter to me. I solve that with a few drops of my Grandma's hot pepper sauce.

pulling a geographic is not always the solution
God can be right where you are and supply what you need, even with no money.
Note that when Jesus travelled in his ministry, he did not go to rural areas he went into the cities. He did not worry about food or clothes. He had a mission.

of course, he got his disciples from fishermen. So he didnt worry about food they would always have fish. If you have fishing skills you can catch your own and dont need money for that. You MIGHT need a boat though...

people in rural areas also are subject to the seasons as urbanites are but doesnt necessarily mean they survive any better they will have hard times of want as well and its much more labour intensive and will need things from the city..like hospitals etc .living in isolation is not good for many people who are also cut off from social contacts. The govt is not ncessarily going to put a road in all the way to your home in the countryside and deliver all the things you find out you may need after all. Internet. Running water. electicity. Books to read. Unless you want to spend all day picking up and burning cowpats when the weather turns cold.

so I would say please consider that having a bolt hole or bunker in the countryside is exactly what mormon preppers might do out of fear and is not necssarily any nobler because you looking out for just yourself and your need for a bucolic lifestyle simply cos you can buy up some country land.

. Sometimes choosing to help others around you in the hard times can be the bigger blessing.

sometimes we don’t realise that those fellow Christians in the House of God, that we think are just a tad bit mad or kooky are there for our perfecting and vice versa.
Another reason why some move far away.
Covid messed up some Christians.
One anti vaxer moved far out bush, because of this fear of no future food supply.
It’s crazy. We sometimes limit God so much.

(And I am not talking about the Pentecostal God)

Correct.
And this verse in Luke 16:9 fascinated me for a long time.
(So God does not fail His children.
He provides the need of his obedient servants who are doing His will.)
Ultimately worrying about our next meal or clothing is not from God.

Again I agree with the Scriptures and the money meant nothing to me,,,I just thought it good to get a hoe in my hand and begin to grow that food for God that they might eat.

Pinch the larger,older leaves off(chickens?), the younger ones that grow back are sweeter...

Hi Christians,

I'm new to this forum, but I hope to have the advice and perspectives of many councilors. After living in mission in various places and seeing the difference between how we live in North America and Europe and how people live in the developing world, I have some perspectives that I would like to bounce off of you.

In the developed world we used to all have gardens, root cellars and places where we dried food. We would take time throughout the year to prepare ourselves for the offseason. Each family generally had one household member working outside the home and one working at the home. It wasn't just a house, but a small enterprise that kept our family fed and cared for. We used money for many things including buying food, but over the years the ratio of how much of our food was grown and prepared by us and how much food we purchased has been shifting. Now it seems that almost all of our food is a straight up trade for money. Both parents need to work to be able to afford a home and the whole idea of self reliance has gone south.

What happens when/if we don't have access to money or inflation is so high that we can't afford to buy food?

In the developing world many families live they way we used to live long ago. One person works outside of the home and the other is busy about making sure the home is an enterprise that keeps the family fed and cared for. The people I am referring to are not the people in the developing world who have adopted the urban ways of the West, but the ancient ways of the wise poor.

I am at once ready to trust in the Lord and press forward in mission and at the same time considering relocating to a place where I will be able to better sustain my family and live a quiet simple life, working with my hands and feeding my family.

The way of the world seems to be heading toward a centralized digital currency. This news, and the understanding that digital ID and intolerance for Judaeo/Christian values gives me pause as I contemplate these things.

hello Matta how are you, just want you to think about some things then pray about it, The father owns the earth, and the fullness there of, he owns the gold, silver, and the oil, everything thing, he would rather have his children have, and not the evil elates, since we are adopted into the family of God, we are heirs with Christ Jesus, rom 8 ;17 pro chap3 ves9''10;;; Malachi 3 vers 8 to 11,,,God loves to bless his children, as long as we love him not the money, blessing is also health for you and your family, and then be a blessing for help other people, the love on money is root of evil, but if you love Jesus and he's number one in your life, then you can Handel what he gives you, your the head not the tail, we just need to believe and use our faith, because the devil is a liar, will I wanted to share this with you, please pray about it, he loves you very much, God bless you,
