Studies show that when more people vote democrats win... The modern view of this statistic is when people who are informed only vote, the republicans win, and when the democrats get a charismatic representative, they tend to win off of the mass cattle herd votes.

But for now on I will only interpret it as, the democrats are too stoned to vote unless they need too....

LOL

So do you think that most people who vote for the Democrats are uninformed? Most political analysts will tell you that the more educated a person, the more likely that person is to vote for the democrats. I currently study a Bachelors degree, and I'd vote left-liberal before I'd vote right-conservative. That opinion is only likely to calcify the more I learn.

Brainfreeze, I appreciate your input. I also understand your concern that by legalising marijuana, everyone's going to turn into a stoned pothead.

But we must be very careful about making assertions with no logical or evidence-based backing.

1) Cigarettes cause serious brain damage. Nicotine, by all measures, is a stimulant drug (same as caffeine, btw). I suggest your aversion to pot is more culturally imposed than rooted in any intrinsic 'badness' of it. 200-300 years ago, most people saw coffee as an "evil drug" to be severely banned. Look where we are today.

2) Yes, we have punishments for drink driving. However, we do not punish people for having a drink or two at a party. Needless to say, Jesus drank wine at a wedding. We don't punish people for getting drunk and falling asleep in their own homes. And we don't punish people for carrying bottles of alcohol around. There are degrees of differentiation. Why then should we punish people who smoke pot recreationally, are found to have pot on them, or if they choose, smoke pot to the detriment of their health but in all other respects do not affect others?

3) The issue of money. It seems to be 'immoral' to adduce financial factors as reasons for legalising pot. The truth is, NOT considering the financial and social impact of over-policing marijuana use is the real immoral act (or rather, immoral omission).

Resources spent on incarcerating users and sellers, and policing and prosecuting a relatively harmless activity (ie. recreational pot use or mere possession) means resources NOT spent on things that are of greater benefit to society.

Much like alcohol, people are going to use pot one way or the other. Resources funnelling into organised crime as a result of pot being illegal causes far greater damage to society (eg. criminals with more money to fund the arms and human trades) than the relatively minor (or negligible) damage caused to society through legal pot use.

I'm not saying marijuana has ZERO negative effects, health or otherwise. However, sometimes the medicine (oppressive bans on pot) we apply to cure the ill (pot use) is so disproportionate that the medicine itself becomes the greater negative effect.
Here's a nice little statistic study for you Roamer, notice Jamaica and war torn LIBYA, are both at 13 on the highest crime rates in the WORLD.

Whenever I'm in really bad pain, which is almost every single day, I'd rather try and get through it using prayer, laughter, humor, and tears. I don't like taking pills, even if it is only advil or aspirin.. :) ThermaCare heat wraps work wonders..lol

As far as using mary jane for pain, I've never smoked it so I don't know the pros and cons of it..

I used to smoke weed all day every day, but even back then, I would've never chosen to legalize the stuff. I wouldn't want people to become as slow and retarded as I was, but I abused it, obviously there are people who can use it in moderation but there's such a fine line between moderation and abuse. If you smoke too much you may find yourself in such a paranoid state to where you find it hard to face the world, then it's hard to lift yourself out of this place. But I'm pleased to say I'm clean now! oh Lord the anxiety, depression and paranoia ain't worth it.

Just my opinion, God bless.

This is so good to hear Daniel,I'm really glad to hear that,if only my nephew knew this,he smokes pot,he stared smoking it when he was like 16 or 15,but you can't change some peoples opinion on pot,and my nephew is one of them,no matter what you tell him,he will always think that it's the greatest thing, but good for you, keep it up. :)

Sounds like 99.9% of teenagers today. Even back in the garden of Eden we was "going our own way" rather than listening to wise instruction and council from God Himself.

It will be too late for him before he realizes the sense in what you have been telling him. Although thats not guaranteed. He may one day decide (before then) that he's had enough of feeling groggy and cloudy minded and not able to think easily let alone hold an intelligent conversation with someone.

Some people are ignorant to the effects until its too late or until its actually happening to them.

And old hairy legs knows this very well, he loves to get kids addicted at a young age, anything to steal, kill and destroy their life and anything to avoid them from coming to know the truth. I suspect he is behind all the major alcohol and tobacco brands who are equally driven by greed and corruption.

Still, all is not lost. All these things will come to an end because after all, Christ has ALREADY defeated him that is the world.

I believe it should be legal for the simple reason that it cost more money than its worth to lock people up for a relatively harmless drug. How many people have died from alcohol? How many have died from weed? To my knowledge, none.
