I recently came across online videos about people taking their own lives due constant bullying, depression and etc. And I was just wondering, were does one's soul go to after committing suicide?

if a person is a born again Christian, & commits suicide, you go to heaven. but i don't think the b.a. Christian can abuse the Bible when it says, "absent from the body, present with the Lord". i had my doubts for years that a b.a. Christian will go to heaven after committing suicide but 2 pastors say it's true.
I think some situations are so horrible that a person who becomes a Christian just wants to come home to God.
I don't think they will go to hell for that one sin. For them to lose their salvation, they have to willfully stop following Jesus, which is not what they're doing when they kill themselves to get out of their horrible situation.
I think God would wish they have stuck it out down here and learn to be strong in Him, but I think He would also comfort them, knowing what they went through.
Bottom line, God doesn't want us to commit suicide, but a Christian won't go to hell for that one sin - only if they went totally apostate.

Eternal destiny depends on whether the person was saved or not. The manner of them departing this life is not relevant. If those who are deeply troubled turn to Jesus, He will set them free. I was ready to end it all before I was 21. I was also drinking myself to death. Jesus saved me just in time and healed the effects of excessive drinking.
If the individual cries out to God, one way or another, God will save them. All I said was, "There must be more to life than this".
i haven't thought of the 1st statement you made. i guess it's possible someone will do that. no Christian can lose salvation, impossible. if someone can lose salvation, he or she was never said in the 1st place. 2ndTimeIsTheCharm, do you mean to say something else? i assent on your 3rd & 4th statements.

I don't believe in OSAS, but I also don't believe a person can lose their salvation easily.
That person would have to willfully abandon God. Most people won't do that because God is altogether lovely.

i'm not arguing with, discussing peacefully with you. please read this entire posting & i thank you. when a person doesn't believe in OSAS, he or she must consider these questions:
1. how will you know when you will be saved?
2. who's going to tell you you are saved?
3. how many times can someone lose salvation & gain it back, 20, 80, or 1,000 times?
4. what's the sense in becoming saved if you believe you can lose salvation multiple times?
5. what if somebody was in the hospital who didn't believe in believed in osas & the doctor said you have a week to live, what are you going to do?
6. not believing in osas is a recurring process the never ends, so how do you get saved, know it & go to to heaven?
the top verse in this issue is 1st John 5:10: "he that believeth on the Son, hath the witness in himself, he that believeth not on God has made him a liar, because he
believes not the record that God gave of His Son". 3 other verses are John 10:28, John 3:36 & Hebrews 5:9. Christians can know they are saved by answered prayer, Jesus & the Holy Spirit living in side us, our understanding of the Scriptures & us keeping His commandments. blessings to you.

I used to think that suicide made everyone automatically hell-bound, but lately I wonder.
The thing is, several sins are committed to do this.
I wouldn't want to bet the farm on it, because it could go either way. I don't recommend it.

It's not complicated. It isn't about committing individual sins. Its about abiding in Jesus, because He is the source of life and righteousness. So whether a person believes in OSAS or not, they are saved as long as they don't leave Him.
A person is saved as long as they stay in Jesus. And He will tell you that through the Holy Spirit. Most people will stay with Him because He's amazing! Plus He helps people stay and empower them to stay with Him.
It's actually difficult to lose your salvation and there's no such thing as dithering in and out of salvation, but some people, which I don't really understand, do leave Him. Maybe they love their sin too much or don't want to be under His Lordship. Those people who have completely left Him are no longer saved. They dont have His life or righteousness, because He is the source of those two things.
God Himself will try to convince one to stay, so like I said before,it's difficult to lose your salvation. It would have to be a really hardened heart to turn away from the Lord.
So don't worry so much! Just keep enjoying your walk with God and continue to stick close to Him. You won't lose your salvation that way!

we have a difference in this issue. i do not worry about anything, i trained myself years ago not to worry. i will always believe in osas. lets peacefully continue on in our CC relationship. blessings to you 2ndTimeIsTheCharm.
